Update []: Xbox has now responded to this, confirming the mention of Game Pass as being incorrect. Nothing was said about console, but we assume it's the same situation. Here's a look at the message:
"This was a mistake on our end, sorry for the confusion!
Blizzard's World of Warcraft was accidentally included in a Game Pass email even though it's not available with the service - a correction email will be sent to those who got the original email soon."
Original Story: We hate to quell anyone's excitement around World of Warcraft potentially coming to console, but if you end up seeing a newsletter that suggests its on its way at some point, we're assuming it's a mistake on Xbox's part.
You can see an example of the email that's being sent out to Xbox fans below, which clearly puts a console symbol next to the World of Warcraft section and actually references the game as being part of Game Pass.
We've seen these kinds of mistakes before, and they very rarely turn out to be anything concrete. If World of Warcraft were to get a console version for Xbox, it surely wouldn't be announced so randomly in a simple newsletter.
That said, we're hoping we see it eventually. Last year, it was mentioned that an Xbox version of WoW was still being discussed internally, and now that the IP belongs to Microsoft, it's surely only a matter of time before it finally happens.
As for now though, it's probably best to ignore any hype you come across. We really doubt this email means anything!

I’m kinda over it. There are so many games and many are so long. Who has time to play an endless, padded game like wow?
I think it will definitely come at some point with keyboard and mouse support, but I don't think this is it. Surely it would have been noted at DD a week ago.
I doubt I’ll ever jump back into WoW, spent the first two years of its life living in its world. Was amazing, but takes up sooo much time.
That said, Steam community has a layout that changes WoW to a “console” version on Steam Deck, and FF14 has been a very successful MMO on consoles. If those both exist, then surely a console port wouldn’t be that difficult at this point….. (granted, Steam Deck has access to trackpads which help balance things a bit better for traditional pc controls….)
So apparently, WoW only gets its full potential if playing with friends....And since I don't have any, this news bears no merit whatsoever 😒😄
If they are going to charge subscription for Warcraft, I'll never play it. Elder scrolls online awesome enough for me.
Rather have Lord of the Rings Online 💪🏻
I loved WoW when it came out and played up to Burning Crusade, I'd definitely play it on my Xbox! I do just think this is a mistake on an email though.
It's an ancient mmo & while I enjoyed it at the time I don't want to play it any more.
Plus on console you would have the disadvantage of not being able to use mods (I expect) which are huge for WoW
Adding a WoW sub to Game Pass's benefits would be very nice even without it coming to consoles. Worth mentioning the game is in a better place now than it has been in a very long time.
I think im long past my wow days. I still buy the expansions, but only reactivate for the 30 days and rarely touch it during that time. I spent way too much tine on the first few years.
Not really interested in live service of MMO type games but I predict that World of Warcraft might not get a Xbox Series release but it's a prime candidate for the Xbox Series 2.
But no StarCraft or Ara history Iuntold Smh
