Hazelight Studios, the now-famous team behind the likes of A Way Out and It Takes Two, has revealed that its upcoming game Split Fiction has officially gone gold. The studio has wrapped up core development on the co-op Xbox title, and is now laser-focused on the game's launch in March 2025.
To accompany this announcement, we also have a brand-new co-op trailer, which we've thrown up above for your viewing pleasure. As you'd expect with Hazelight, Split Fiction continues to look quite remarkable, and we're very excited to get our hands on the game in just over a month's time.
Split Fiction looks set to provide tons of gameplay variety as Hazelight's next outing - seriously, pretty much every screenshot we see looks like an entirely different experience! Here's what to expect from the title, alongside some of those screenshots to showcase what the game has to offer:
"Jump into a split-screen adventure that's tailored for two. You and a friend will coordinate your actions and timing as you work together to overcome a variety of challenges. Split Fiction is coming to you from Hazelight – the co-op thrill-makers that brought you It Takes Two and A Way Out – so you know there'll be some wild surprises in store."
Split Fiction hits Xbox Series X|S on March 6th, 2025.

Me and my wife can't wait.
And gladly, a game which is not released on Game Pass day 1, it's coming on disc and it will still sell great, I guess.
Looks like a good co-op game all I need now is a friend to play with me 😭
I credit Hazelight with finally being able to get my wife into more 'dextrous' gaming. We play plenty of single player puzzle and narrative games 'together' but No Way Out and It Takes Two led to Portal 2 and other proper multiplayer games with more challenging controls. We can't wait for Split Fiction!
Edit: her 200+ hours with Powerwash Simulator has also helped.
I want to play this so badly!! Looks fantastic! It takes 2 was an amazing game and a way out too, I'm looking forward to what they do with this game, fingers crossed it's just as fun!
Looking forward to this one, it looks right up my street.
Looks cool but I am single player only so oh well. Games are too complex for me to play with my feet as well now.
