Every now and again, the Xbox Store plays host to various rip-off titles that are clearly inspired by other projects (sometimes they're just straight ports), but we have to admit, this specific one is a very entertaining example.
Yes, Mariostro Strikers: Soccer League is available to purchase on Xbox right now, and it absolutely, positively doesn't resemble anything like Mario Strikers: Battle League Football on the Switch. Got that, Nintendo?
"Dive into the thrilling world of arcade-style soccer with [Your Game Name Here]! Experience the excitement of 4v4 matches, where every player counts. With 10 unique and fun teams to choose from, you’ll dribble, pass, and shoot your way to victory while defending your goal with a skilled goalkeeper."
What's particularly strange is that even though Mariostro Strikers has gone viral over the past 24 hours (our friends at Nintendo Life even talked about it), it still remains available to purchase at the time of writing. You'd think that Microsoft would act to remove it ASAP, and it'll surely disappear soon enough, but they're taking their sweet time about it!
Anyway, yeah - this happens more than you might think, but Mariostro Strikers: Soccer League is probably the most entertaining example we can remember. It's not the best look for the Xbox Store, but it gave us a good laugh at least.
Have you come across any other rip-off games on Xbox like this? Tell us down in the comments below.

Thats what happens when you ask chatGPT ;
"yo chatGPT write me codes, to build a mario strikers kinda game" than this is what you get 😂😂😂
I'm envisioning the one scene in the Simpsons where Mr. Burns calls in the lawyers and they start sliding down a fire pole.
It's hilarious that they didn't even bother putting the game name in the blurb and left it as "[Your Game Name Here]"
@Kieduss "Señor Spielbergo" comes to mind for me 😅
This is so bad. Mariostro 🤣🤦🏻♂️
well, at least it made me laugh! 😂
Nintendo doesn't own the name Mario or different variants of it, and they don't own football or any names associated with it.
If this was as "great" as PalWorld, everyone would be praising it and making excuses for why it's okay.
@FraserG Nintendo is also a factory owner, also built shells for the Nazis, BUT THEIRS WORKED DAMNIT!!!
Even without the ripoff, that game looks so trash lol!
No link to the store? I'll go check it out. 😂
"Dive into the thrilling world of arcade-style soccer with [Your Game Name Here]!"
I'm dying. 😂
@Markatron84 😂
@FraserG I was saying Boo-urns.
Nintendo has an age old marketing phrase kinda like this is an Xbox: this is a lawsuit 😂 that game won't be around for long
In all fairness if you're gonna rip-off a Mario Spin-Off game, Strikers is the one likely to be ignored the most by Nintendo. If anything it might be better to have it there to remind people there is in fact a Mario Strikers entry on Switch.
