Seven Delisted Xbox Games Have Just Been Surprisingly Updated By Activision

We don't want to get your hopes up or anything, but something weird is going on at Activision right now.

As shared on social media yesterday, the company recently decided to update seven of its delisted titles on Steam for the first time in a while, even though they're not even publicly visible on that store anymore. Here are the titles:

Deadpool
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2
Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions
Transformers Devastation
Transformers: Fall of Cybertron
Transformers: War for Cybertron

It seems a screenshot has been added to the store for each game, but supposedly these are just copies of old images that have been re-added this month. Why? It's anyone's guess! It's impossible to know whether this is a sign of something major, or a tiny update that won't affect anything going forward.

We should mention that it's not the first time these games have been updated since they were delisted on Steam, so that's also one of the reasons we suggest not getting your hopes up. If they returned to Xbox though, it'd be amazing!

There's been so much smoke around these games that the fire has to be somewhere close. With Hasbro even saying they'd like to get the Transformers games out and available again.

I dont know how the Sony deal works. Would that impact older games like Shattered Dimensions getting a re-release, or could they get away with just having the original versions re-added to storefronts?

Still, I hope this paves a way for older TMNT games to return to storefronts. Turtles in Time Reshelled, while flawed, was still fun. And I need Mutants in Manhattan.

... I'll even take Out of the Shadows. Getting a bit desperate there but I hate that all these games were lost to time due to licensing.

(PS: Xbox you own both Bethesda and Acti, why is Wolfenstein 09 still MIA??)

Deadpool would be a great answer to PlayStation's Spider-Man, a more mature and badass character than the teenage hero Spider-Man.

Might want to update the article with the bit of information you omitted from this story. It wasn't just these 7 games, a total of 115524 other games recieved updates on Steam. In other words, this article and news is a giant nothingburger.

@fatpunkslim You can still play the disc version on Series X. It's not the best game but I had fun with it.

Won't believe it's happening till I see it but would love updates and on Game Pass. Loved most of these games.

It'd be a major flex if Microsoft could just undelist these games and bring them back through backwards compatibility with FPS boosts. Aside from the license it wouldn't take much work. If they are also working with the license holders, I'd love to see all the Activision Marvel games come back (especially all the Spider-Man), at least the ones that were on Xbox. And also the Legend of Korra platinum games game alongside the tranformers game.

Regardless there's a ton of non licensed Activision games, Microsoft could undelist now on the Xbox store. I just want to play the Legend of Spyro Dawn of the Dragon 🥲.

@Elbow It would entirely depend on the deal Disney worked out with Sony, which as far as we know wasn't for Spider-Man but insomniac was told they could do any marvel game (at least I remember seeing that somewhere) and we know they are also now doing Wolverine. Considering all the other marvel games in the works by other studios, I don't at all think they were given an exclusive license. In which case Microsoft just needs to renegotiate getting the licenses for the delisted game back.

I remember Phil Spencer saying they were trying to get around the expired licenses for the Deadpool game so there's a chance that's coming back
