Halo Infinite

After a teaser earlier this week, the Halo Infinite team has now officially lifted the lid on the 'MA5K Avenger' in its latest livestream.

This new fully automatic rifle has a "commanding presence" when it comes to close-quarters combat in Halo Infinite multiplayer. It's an "SMG-class" weapon, with the team starting its creation process by first examining Halo 2's SMG and then cross-referencing it with the SMGs from Halo 3: ODST and Halo 5.

"After plenty of fun playtests and iteration, we landed on a tuning pass which feels similar to both, yet has clearly established an identity of its own as a natural inclusion into this pantheon of SMGs."

You can see it in action in the video below (via 'Rebs Gaming' on social media):

This weapon will arrive next week on 5th November 2024 and will be the starting weapon in the Halo 2-inspired 'Delta Arena' playlist. The team also expects it to become your secondary weapon in many Firefight experiences and it will start appearing in SMG-class weapon racks in the game as well.

You can see everything else on the way to this new update 'Operation Journey' on Halo Waypoint and in our previous coverage here on Pure Xbox:
