Welcome to your first Xbox Game Pass update for October 2024! Today, we have three new additions to the service across two different tiers - with Microsoft choosing to bulk out its Game Pass Standard offering as well.
Here's some more information on your latest Game Pass refresh, with Sifu coming to the Ultimate library alongside those two Standard additions - which are already in the Ultimate library themselves.
MLB The Show 24 (Console, PC, Cloud) - GP Standard
"Swing for the fences, experience game-deciding moments, become a legend and live out your baseball dreams in MLB The Show 24. Everyone has a moment to own. Everyone has a story to tell. Unlock your moment. Own The Show."
Open Roads (Console, PC, Cloud) - GP Standard

Is it just me or has the past few months been pretty lame?
@funkhouser nah they're even counting the standard additions now, a new low....
@funkhouser it does feel like the last few months have been substandard.
I'd like to see the following games added in the near future.
Division 1 & 2
Crew motorfest
Biomutant
Banishers
WRC added to EA play
That would personally make up for the perceived shortfall of the last few months.
But there's still loads of titles to choose from so I'm not unhappy by any stretch.
@funkhouser I think it’s likely due to the lighter release schedule this year, but it also feels like PS+ is netting day 1s for a lot of games that used to feel like obvious GP games, aka games like Dave the Diver, Plucky Squire, Animal Well, etc. Also, it feels like the biggest indies that are signed up are AWOL. We’re missing Silksong, Replaced, etc. These are circumstantial issues. The lack of quality first party games feels particularly obvious after roughly 3-4 years of sparse releases.
it feels like Xbox is banking on CoD, Stalker, and Indy this year, which all release end of year. I do question who greenlit some of the AAs though. Flintlock was such massive miscalculation. Certainly feels like Palworld was the last GP “hit.”
For me, personally, Hauntii was the only GP game I’ve liked this year and unsubbed after the price increase. Haven’t seen a reason to go back, as I wouldn’t have saved money with GP, but rather spent more money in paying for nothing basically. To be fair though, this is my lightest spend year in gaming in total in over a decade, so Xbox isn’t the only issue.
Ye not been best lately but got plenty in backlog tbh keep buying games for 137 installed atm😂. Nine sols will be a good month😎
@somnambulance wait, is Dustborn on GP? I totally missed that!
@RentedPanda I thought it was, but I just looked it up and I guess not. Xbox just had marketing rights for it for a bit. Still a game that did not resonate with the gaming community and financial error.
@somnambulance thanks for the clarification. Not disagreeing that this did not make waves, but it is still on my list. Personally I'd like to see it show up on gamepass, or may pick up in a sale.
@The-Grezzly-Bear Division 1 and 2 are severely underrated, underappreciated games.
