One of the biggest Xbox releases of October has undoubtedly been the new boxing game Undisputed, and it sounds like EA has been paying attention to its success. Apparently, that means a new Fight Night game could be on the way!
This is according to Insider Gaming journalist Mike Straw, who noted on the MSM podcast yesterday that EA seems keen on creating a new Fight Night title, but he doesn't expect it to arrive for a few years yet:
"They've seen the interest in Undisputed. They have noticed that people are talking..."
"I can tell you that after years of on-and-off again, Fight Night is in the stage where EA is working on what they have to do to get this out. And, should it release, it'll release on current-gen Xbox and PlayStation hardware. 3-4 years is a good window for them... like, 2028 is a good window."
In the podcast, Straw mentioned how EA has a contract with UFC to keep making those games, whereas boxing is a more complicated situation where individual licenses must be acquired. Nevertheless, things are sounding positive!
Obviously this is still just a rumour for now though, and we heard rumours about Fight Night being brought back in the past that never came to fruition, so who knows if EA ends up pulling the plug on this revival once again. Let's hope that's not the case though, as competition is always a good thing - and it's been 13 years since the last entry!

“They have seen the interest , they have noticed people talking” ….. there really are some Sherlock Holmes types in that department isn’t it??? My god , I really would be ashamed to admit this. It just perfectly shows how well EA listens to their customers…. People are literally screaming for a new fight night for over a decade but EA didn’t listen to them at all. They put all the money on the UFC and were blind and deaf for all those years. Now they see that someone else is having quite a success, they suddenly wake up and dare to say with a straight face : yeah … maybe it is a good idea to dust of that franchise. You think ???
But yeah … keep pushing out those yearly NHL / NFL / NBA / FC ( fifa ) games that close up their servers after 13 - 15 months .. probably because they are soooooo popular.
Total bull why didn't they just make one years ago after the last fight night it's not like boxing isn't a worldwide popular sport!
Well they need to first drop consistent college football updates the blocking is still ***** cpu defenders has glue hands and user catches drop way too often vs cpu …. We also need a college baseball and basketball which will sell more than boxing
Still play Fight Night Champions/X360 (also available via EA Play)
@TheSimulator I wouldn't bet on that boxing is far more popular than those sports!
@Ricky-Spanish I'm not into college football. But did you pay attention yo how well that cfb game sold? Wayyy more money in college football than boxing.
@Jonnybekeww A proper boxing game would sell more the sports you are talking about are regional (popular in the states)
Take your time EA it's only 2024...
@Ricky-Spanish I don't think so. Ncaa had 2.8 million play it in the first three days.
I never understand why some smaller company instead of making the typical over the top boxing game like Creed simply didn’t make a simulation. You don’t have to get licensed boxers, fans are just starved for a boxing game to play on the switch etc. that doesn’t have zombies in it
@Pusher2021 if you have the Xbox 360 you should definitely get the earlier fight night games in particular fight night 2004
@ShinG67 Yeah, I also own the FN Round 4 and even enjoyed/own Rocky back on the OG Xbox
Cool. Rocky was pretty good. More arcade but still some simulation aspects. Wish it was rereleased
