Ahead of the big gaming convention later this month, Xbox has announced a bunch of plans for Gamescom 2024, including daily broadcasts during the week of the event. Everything kicks off on Wednesday, August 21, with an Xbox livestream featuring fresh looks at Stalker 2, Atomfall, Age of Mythology: Retold and more.
For the following two days — August 22 and 23 — Team Xbox will return with two more daily livestreams. Thursday's broadcast has Towerborne, Star Wars Outlaws and World of Warcraft: The War Within attached to it, while Friday's stream will show off Avowed and Ara: History Untold - with more games to be announced across all three livestreams in the coming weeks.
"Join Team Xbox and friends on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday for a deeper dive into some of the highly anticipated games at gamescom 2024, with first-look gameplay, developer chats, new trailers and more. The Bethesda team will also have daily content streaming live from the booth over on their Twitch channel."
If you're lucky enough to be attending Gamesom 2024 in person, Microsoft says that over 50 games will be present at the Xbox booth across a bunch of first and third party teams. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and Starfield: Shattered Space will also be there, but only in hands-off presentation format.
Down below are the Bethesda and Xbox livestream schedules for those at-home broadcasts. These times are applicable to each day - August 21, 22 and 23.
- Bethesda - Start: 5am PDT / 8am EST / 1pm BST / 2pm CEST
- Xbox - Start: 6am PDT / 9am EDT / 2pm BST / 3pm CEST

I hope to see the Towerborne release date.
No specific mention of Indiana Jones? You’d think Gamescom would be where they announce a release date for that one and Avowed. Wonder if Xbox may have a fall showcase planned or something.
@somnambulance "No specific mention of Indiana Jones?"
Might be saving it for the September PlayStation Showcase......
(I kid, I kid! Probably...)
@somnambulance Shattered Space DLC, Avowed and Indiana Jones have stage presentations on the show floor. You just can't play it yourself much like Starfield couldn't be played last Gamescom.
Would be happy to see a bit more of Flight Simulator 2024 - it looks insanely good
@Grumblevolcano @NEStalgia Lol, if Indiana Jones is announced for PS during a PS Showcase, I’m out!
At least we knew when Starfield was coming out! It really feels like the vague dates on Avowed and Indy might mean for delays. Even Dragon Age is being more transparent about giving us info than these two now!
@somnambulance
I can see Avowed for 2024.
But Indy I can see a delay and with Stalker 2 now maybe releasing November 2024 that fills the Indy gap.
@somnambulance
Got that wrong just hearing a delay to Avowed until early 2025.
Well if Indy gets delayed to 2025 then that’s a flat year from Microsoft yet again.
Can't wait. I'm from Germany and will be there ☺️
@OldGamer999 Indy is way more important to me, but this delay makes me wonder if more important games like Fable will get pushed back even further. Xbox has cemented 2024 as the worst year in Xbox history with this delay. The best thing MS has done this year is a Fallout tv show…
@somnambulance
I’m sort of assuming maybe wrongly though.
Avowed and maybe Indy 2025.
Meaning Fable etc that was 2025 will be 2026.
So just add the following year into the supposed release date.
So E day maybe 2027 to 2028.
I know there are plenty of reasons or excuses for game delays, but developer studios are not the same nowadays and it’s all excuses me.
And sometimes when we get the games you are best to wait at least 3 months for patches for performance and bug issues and better quality of life features.
I would love to inside these companies and studios in the last three years to see what is actually going on and going wrong.
And I don’t care what the world says working from home is affecting game development.
I have seen at where I work, time wasted, poor communication, the email and message warriors, wrong items worked on, lack of direction and focus and management.
To the point our owners are planning to get all back into work as I work closely with them and have been adding work facilities etc in readiness.
For the record I attended work at work everyday.
Their section at Gamescom was dope last year. Waiting time for things was just too long though & the Starfield team grossly over hyped the game. I enjoyed my playthrough enough though. Hope they cut back on load screens.
@OldGamer999 I feel like I’ve been waiting for Xbox to release games for forever. I dunno about you, but Starfield was sort of disappointing. Not the worst game in the world, but nowhere near the hype… and Fallout London seems to be more satisfying, oddly enough. Anyway, I felt like Xbox put all the eggs in the basket for that one, and that was a bummer. Hi Fi Rush was the last great game by Xbox and they shut the studio down. 2022 was barren. 2021 had Halo Infinite, Psychonauts, and Forza Horizon, which is a fine line up, but Forza’s not my cup of tea and Halo Infinite’s mp irked me, even if I liked the campaign. I’m not giving them credit for Deathloop. There’s been two games by the company I’ve genuinely loved all generation. Two in four years. This might be a work from home problem, but clearly it’s bigger than that. It genuinely feels like Xbox is constantly lying to get consumers passively interested and management can’t keep any project on point from a timeline or quality perspective. It feels like it’s GAASbox now, sadly.
@somnambulance
Starfield was ok but it’s old fashioned engine and the way Bethesda programme it felt like a ten year old game in a fast modern gaming world. The loading was terrible and graphics outside not up to big AAA. The gun play was ok especially in doors. And of course it was way overhyped.
It ended up a bit like Halo Infinite, big hope that never lived up to near the best games out there and what they should have been.
I still stand by FH5 being the best AAA they released overall outside of HiFi rush.
I would not be surprised if it continues that way with Avowed and Indy and even Fable etc, I’m afraid. Not up there with the best big AAA games and falling short in some ways. Around the 85 metric type games.
I don’t think we will see a GOWR, TLOU, Mario Odyssey, BOTW game level from Xbox nowadays.
I would very gladly be proven wrong though.
