EA and Respawn Entertainment have finally dated the last-gen versions of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, and fans don't have long to wait to dive in. The Fallen Order sequel comes to Xbox One, and PS4, on September 17th, 2024.
Closer to when the current-gen versions launched back in 2023, Respawn announced their intentions of creating a last-gen version to meet "community demand". Well, Xbox One Star Wars fans, the day is finally coming next month!
Here's what to expect from your new adventure:
"This narratively driven, single-player title picks up 5 years after the events of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and follows Cal’s increasingly desperate fight as the galaxy descends further into darkness. Pushed to the edges of the galaxy by the Empire, Cal will find himself surrounded by threats new and familiar. As one of the last surviving Jedi Knights, Cal is driven to make a stand during the galaxy’s darkest times — but how far is he willing to go to protect himself, his crew, and the legacy of the Jedi Order?"
Interestingly, the Xbox Series X|S and PS5 versions themselves suffered from quite a few technical issues at launch last April, before Respawn worked to patch the game up for current-gen players. Hopefully, the time that's been spent working on the last-gen port means it's up to snuff right out of the gate.
There's not long to go until we find out anyway - Star Wars Jedi: Survivor hits Xbox One on September 17.

I'm glad more people can play this, it's so good and a great sequel!
There must still be enough people on last gen on both consoles for this will be interesting to see how it runs great game 9/10 for me so much better than the first game!
I agree it’s cool that more people get to play a great game. I’m just curious how it will run. It’s a demanding game!
We will move into a future where generations no longer exist, each new hardware iteration simply runs the same games with different visual settings.
As long as it is possible to reduce resolution and performance, games will continue to be released on older machines.
The game design on the levels in this game was horrible, it was a slog to even finish it!
This is crazy to think about. Xbone and PS4 are the little consoles that could. They just won't stop, into what is meant to be the halfway point of their successors lifespan. I don't even think the PS2 or Wii had this kind of support so long after their successors came out.
yay I can play it now.
Not unless you've got a magic lamp in your pocket.
One of the best games this generation of consoles.
This game, like it's predecessor, was one of the few games which was actually worth the buy in this age. Wasn't just the absence of IAP's/battlepass or a megalomaniac selling it bigger than it is (looking at you, Todd Howard). Finishing it felt like I just watched a movie and had to cool down due to the emotional roller-coaster I went through. Can't wait for the next part. There is a next part right? All things SW come in trilogies, no?
