Every time there's a big event or live stream featuring indies, you'll often see chat boxes filled with requests for Hollow Knight: Silksong. It's becoming a running joke at this point, and to put Silksong fans out of their misery ahead of Opening Night Live (well, kind of), the show's host Geoff Keighley has told Hollow Knight fans not to expect any announcements related to the second game during the show.
In a brief message on social media, he decided to "get this out of the way", and also provide a small update on the development status of the title at the same time, mentioning how Team Cherry is "still cooking". Attached was a clown image for all of the Hollow Knight supporters out there.
"Just to get this out of the way, no Silksong on Tuesday at ONL. @TeamCherryGames is still cooking."
When Silksong does arrive, it will be a day one Xbox Game Pass release. The last significant update in April of this year saw some ratings and the Xbox store page go live. It's now been more than five years since the original announcement.
How do you feel about this update and when do you think we'll see this game? Let us know in the comments.

The anticipation for Silksong was the real end boss of the original game.
This game is in desperate need of a developer update. At this point, just a blog post would suffice to confirm to fans that development is still progressing well.
The reveal trailer was shown at a Nintendo event 2019, the latest trailer released in 2022 during Microsoft’s summer event to confirm that the game would be launching on gamepass. Since then, there’s been little, if any news regarding the game’s progress.
I appreciate the studio is only a 3 man team who have a huge number of roles to perform, so understand that just releasing a trailer is a huge commitment. As I said before, a small blog post would go a long way to placating the fans and help to reassure them that this game is still going to release and isn’t stuck in development hell.
I don't think we're going to have any news until they're sure they can release the game.
Seems like vaporware at this point
Hollow Knight is simultaneously a fantastic game and the most overrated game of all time. The fact that every streaming game event is flooded by people spamming silksong, and that we need this announcement, is ludicrous.
