With Avowed now delayed to 2025, the biggest Xbox first-party release scheduled for this year (beyond Call of Duty) is Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, but we're still none the wiser about when it's planned to launch for Xbox and PC.
That should hopefully be changing next week, as it's been confirmed the title will be present at Gamescom Opening Night Live 2024 with a "new look", and this marks the final major event before the game is expected to be released.
We're assuming a "new look" means plenty of fresh gameplay footage, and there's a chance we may see more at Xbox's daily Gamescom streams after the event as well, which take place from Wednesday to Friday next week.
The big focus for now though is on Gamescom Opening Night Live 2024, which we'll be covering in full here at Pure Xbox - so rest assured you won't miss a thing. Let's keep our fingers crossed there's no 2025 delay for Indy!

Well that will be some good news with the yearly delay announcements starting already.
So hope this game hits the big AAA spot as well.

I wonder how many of the game on the showcase will actually happen when they said they would happen? I mean if everything gets delayed after announcing like that, then I would rather prefer the Nintendo way of "only letting you know last min" or having actual release dates. Really wished I didn't resubscribe to gamepass as I'm playing games less on the Xbox and buying them on the ps5/switch. With all these games coming throughout 2025, this makes my current subscription not worth as much...

I get what you mean I have GPU until March 2025 stacked but got it cheaper.
GPU seems more like a play old games if you looking for the big old AAA games, so it is good for that and of course the AA and indies games.
I mean recently mafia and crash bandicoot.
I have been there seen it done it. Old great games but old.
If it doesn’t pick up with very good quality big AAA games by March 2025 that will be the end of my subscription. And I don’t mean the likes of Redfall, Forza or even Starfield. I mean top quality AAA at the level of or very near to BOTW, Mario Odyssey, TLOU 2 and GOWR.
But currently it’s and old games and average new games subscription service really.
I hope this turns out great. Even if it doesn't I would still love some classic Indy trilogy-like humor and story. It's got to be better than the last few movies, haha.
I hope it's out before Black Friday so that it can really take full advantage of the holiday season.

Well if that does happen then that sort of makes Xbox showcase look dumb and having the worst 2024 out of all the big three in the end. Especially after such hopes.
With possibly Stalker 2 to the rescue.
And really doesn’t help their reputation and any brand momentum.
I hope it comes to PlayStation 5.

@OldGamer999 Having such a great showcase and then delaying everything (and potentially some of the games outright disappearing) would sort of be par for the course for Xbox.
Realistically, even with Indy and Stalker, I don’t think Xbox beats Playstation or Nintendo this year for me.

@Ricky-Spanish I'm not picky in FPS vs 3rd, and I'm old, I had watched all the Indy movies 20x over, adored Young Indiana.
Some reason it just doesn't look like my cup of tea, agreed on cutscenes🤌
This looks great in 1st person. I am just hoping that the trailer is not another full cutscene. I don't really want anything else spoiled for me.
