Way back in January, we got the news that popular survival game Green Hell was finally getting a native Xbox Series X|S port, and now the team has returned to the topic with a very nearby launch date - and the above trailer.

Yep, Green Hell brings its free 'next-gen' upgrade to Xbox on August 14th, alongside its new 'Spirits of Amazonia' update - which features "over 20 hours of additional gameplay" for Green Hell fans to enjoy.

Developer Creepy Jar has reiterated that Green Hell Next-Gen will be available as a completely standalone purchase, or as a free upgrade for owners of the last-gen version. The game will also be brought in-line with the PC build when this update drops.

"Featuring three major content updates that were previously only available on PC, the game is available as both a standalone purchase and a FREE upgrade for all owners of the last-gen version."

There are a few other things to be aware of, though. First off, there'll be no cross-gen multiplayer with the Xbox One version of the title, and last-gen save files won't carry over either - Xbox Series X|S players will have to start over when playing the new upgrade later this month. With this update, patches will cease for the old version anyway, so it's probably worth cutting your losses now and moving over - if you have the hardware for it.
