Ahead of its arrival next month, THQ Nordic has today announced that a free demo is officially available for Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed! Yep, the 2010 Nintendo Wii title is getting a full remaster for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S this September, and you can get a taste of the action right now for free.
The demo, which contains a small chunk of the full release, is now live on the Xbox Store. We'll drop a link to the free Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed demo down below.
This is one of the more surprising remasters we've seen announced in recent years. Yes, the sequel came to Xbox 360 and had a bit of a cult following, but we certainly didn't have a modern Xbox port of the Wii original on our bingo cards for 2024. Nevertheless, it's happening, and the full game lands on September 24th!
If you'd like to read a bit more about the remaster, or have a gander at some of the game's official screenshots, it might be worth checking out the link below - and getting your paintbrushes primed and ready for next month.

I played it on Wii more than 10 years ago, and well, I didn't find it particularly good, so I don't think playing it today would be a particularly interesting experience.
But it's true that it has its audience, so I hope they enjoy it.
The only problem with it is that it has one of the worst camera in game history and since Warren Spector said it was good, it probably has not been fixed.
@Banjo- Why didn’t you check a gameplay or the demo itself before criticizing it?
I just played it and it’s finally fixed but it was obviously expected since the Wii version just didn’t have a second stick to control the camera.
And btw, both PS5 and Switch versions seem better to play since they support gyroscope and it’s pretty important for the gameplay, Xbox doesn’t cause their controllers are stuck with features from 20 years ago.
A demo for Xbox One, really? Wow. Not complaining. Still getting some neat stuff on the old One! ...Probably not for much longer, but hey. Enjoy the ride while it lasts.
@IOI Oh, you are one to talk. You have something negative to say about Xbox on an Xbox site every day of your life and still dare to preach. Good job.
I wonder if this game does well enough they'll be able to remaster the second game and give it the full story as it was planned and not the half-complete game as released. Kinda like KOTOR2 or somewhat like Toonstruck.
@Banjo- Yes I do as MS is doing it very easy for us to complain in an almost daily basis so far this year, you tried to complain about the camera in a remake without even trying it or researching it yourself but ironically while fixed the Xbox version is the “worst” for the remake since gyroscope controls are actually useful…
@Scummbuddy I wouldn't hold my breath but it would be very cool to see happen. Warren was way too ambitious with this series, he had a ton of games planned..
