The Xbox Ultimate Game Sale 2024 will be reaching its conclusion next week on Wednesday, July 31st, and looking at the "Top Paid" Xbox charts, we're getting a good idea of what the most popular games have been in the sale overall.
Our focus here is on the UK and US versions of the chart which are generally very aligned - the rankings are different, but the games themselves are almost exactly the same. In both regions, it's Grand Theft Auto V's Premium Edition that tops the list, which is pretty crazy considering that's actually the last-gen version of the game!
We should also mention that some of the Activision games here could end up on Xbox Game Pass eventually (Call of Duty, we're looking at you!). Sekiro is possibly the odd one out, as although that game was published by Activision when it launched back in 2019, the IP is believed to remain with developer FromSoftware.
Here's a look at the current "Top Paid Games" list in the US for just the Xbox Ultimate Sale 2024 deals. This list is accurate at the time of writing, but obviously these rankings could change before the sale ends next week.

I see no point in buying any xbox games anymore
Not a lot of surprises. Personally I am most interested in Alan Wake 2 from this sale, which I didn't see on the list of top sellers, but I suppose it is pretty niche and more expensive than almost of these top 25 games except for Elden Ring. Not in impulse buy range yet
Call of Duty, Call of Duty, Call of Duty, Call of Duty........
Suicide Squad (!?!?).....Call of Duty.
@Dan1283 not sure if your comment is about fear that the ecosystem and digital library could go away, or about gamepass providing plenty to play and potentially adding something you just bought. For both reasons, I try to limit purchases to only things I plan to play right away. If you are buying a game you really want to play immediately, it still makes sense, in my opinion
@RentedPanda ye that's it only because of what's going on at Microsoft at the minute who knows if they will stop making consoles or not at the this rate i hope not?
So the 11 years old GTAV is in the top 10 not once but twice?!? Seriously, who tf is still buying this game? 😂
@Nightcrawler71 I bought it last year. Owned it on disc around the time it was released and bought it digitally this time to revisit it after 10 years. Not that strange actually if you only owned a physical copy for a console from the past.
GTA V as number 1... A 10+ year old game that still sells that good makes you think, uh?
I am kinda surprised Forza Horizon 4 isn't higher on the list with it being delisted soon, nows the perfect chance to buy it.
@Nightcrawler71 It always charts at the top of sales lists because the games comes with Shark Cards that give in game currency for GTA Online. At the sale price it is cheaper to buy a new copy of the game then to buy the currency at the standard price. It's crazy.
As for my purchases in the sale, I bought the Mafia Trilogy. $15 was too good a price to pass up, even with my concerns about the long term stability at Xbox.
Sekiro marking the top five keeps my faith in the Xbox community😁. Even if the top two are depressingly predictable.
Who on earth is still buying GTA at this point? It baffles me no end!
@NEStalgia
There are quite a few Call of Duty games, but if you look really closely some real diamonds are spread in between too (I'm not thinking Suicide Squad 😉), there's is still hope for non COD gamers 😀.
Wow GTA V at the top spot, it seems there is a lot of nagging kids still that ask their not well informed grandparents or cool uncles to buy them it 😂.
@Nightcrawler71 Honestly I think it's the cheaters getting permanently banned (as they ABSOLUTELY should) and just go out and rebuy the game.
@Tasuki With all the DLC too I believe. If so, fantastic deal.
