Phasmophobia Dev Figures Out New Xbox Release Date, Due Later This Year

Last year, spooky ghost-hunting game Phasmophobia was supposed to be coming to Xbox, before a couple of last-minute delays pushed the release beyond 2023. At the time, we had no real idea when the console version would eventually come out - but the dev team now has a fresh release date.

However, it's not disclosing the exact date for now. Kinetic Games plans to release Phasmophobia on Xbox "during our in-game Halloween Event" this October, but there's no specific date beyond that.

"We're thrilled to announce that the console update will be released this year, during our in-game Halloween Event. Once launched, all players will have access to cross-play, allowing you to play the newest version of the game with everyone,

We are collaborating with Unity to work on the console release, as well as general performance optimisations for both console and PC, this will ensure that the console update runs optimally and to the high standards that we set for the game."

In the team's new announcement post, it goes on to say that the title won't be coming to Xbox Game Pass, and that the game will be going up in price later this year when the console version arrives - up to $19.99 from the game's current PC price of $13.99.

We're hopeful that Kinetic Games will get a bit more specific about its Phasmophobia Xbox release date soon, but it's probably best not to expect the exact date until the team has its Halloween update fully planned and ready to announce.
