Yesterday's big Xbox Games Showcase delivered the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 launch date - with the new Call of Duty title arriving like clockwork in late October 2024. However, this is the first year that CoD launches day one on Game Pass, and that means that fans have the opportunity to effectively upgrade the game without having to outright purchase Black Ops 6.
Yep, alongside yesterday's launch date news, Activision has set all of the pre-orders live for Black Ops 6's various different editions. Included in that list is the game's 'Vault Edition Upgrade', which can be combined with standard Xbox Game Pass access for Black Ops 6. The upgrade costs £30 / $30, and here's what's included:
- The Hunters vs. Hunted Operator Pack
- 4 Operator Skins: Adler, Park, Brutus and Klaus
- Mastercraft Collection
- 5 Mastercraft Weapons
- BlackCell Rewards (1 Season)
- Season 1 Battle Pass with 20 Tier Skips, 1,100 COD Points and more
- GobbleGum Pack (Zombies)
- 12 GobbleGums of high rarities (Zombies)
This sort of upgrade has been happening for a few years now with Call of Duty, but in recent years, you'd of course have to fork out $70 for the game itself - making the $100 buy-in quite a tough pill to swallow. Now though, the upgrade will only be a $30 purchase for Game Pass subscribers, making the Vault Edition Upgrade a more tempting proposition - even though the majority of these goodies are only cosmetic items for Black Ops 6.
Remember that to access BO6 Multiplayer and Online Zombies you'll need Game Pass Core or Game Pass Ultimate - and the team has also confirmed that an internet connection is required to play any portion of the game, including campaign.
