Update (Wed 17th Jul, 2024): Today's the day! Asphalt Legends Unite is now available for free on the Xbox Store:
Original story (Thu 20th Jun, 2024): Asphalt 9: Legends has been a great addition to the free-to-play lineup on Xbox over the past few years, and we're pleased to say it's getting a major expansion in less than a month's time - in the form of Asphalt Legends Unite.
In this expansion (which will permanently replace Asphalt 9: Legends on the Xbox Store), players will be treated to an improved gameplay engine, a new co-op game mode, cross-play and 120FPS support, and many other new features.
You can check out a sample of this in the new Asphalt Legends Unite trailer above, which features a very familiar face in the form of Malcolm in the Middle's Frankie Muniz. He'll also be featured in a special series of in-game events.
Look out for Asphalt Legends Unite on Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S on July 17, 2024.
"Spark your competitive soul with Asphalt Legends Unite and feel the collective heartbeat of the road! Join forces with other players to speed through intense arcade races, perform jaw-dropping stunts, and charge towards victory while driving the finest hypercars!"

Problem with tbis as well as disney speedstorm is the amount of grinding if you dont want to pay. I used to play legends a lot but got to the point where i needed to spend loads of time with it for hardly nothing. I am doing that on speedstorm at the moment but least the chapter bits are mostly playable but thats after 300 hours on it
I remember downloading this when I first got my Series X back in 2022 as it was free. It was actually pretty fun and visually looked great considering it was a mobile game first. But then I got GamePass and downloaded Horizon 5 and never played Asphalt again lol.
I’m sure the game is fun, so maybe I’ll give it another download. I don’t remember… is it a game you can “beat” with a single-player campaign or is it all online? If it’s the former, I could see myself playing through that content.
It’s crazy this game evolved from a simple free mobile game to a full budget Xbox game.
I stopped playing this because they wiped my progress. They said I had left it too long between sessions and totally wiped all my progress and cars.
This is also why , I have been put off playing Disney Speedstorm.
