First unveiled back in September 2022 as 'Assassin's Creed Red', Ubisoft has officially titled its next big Assassin's Creed game - and it's set a date for the reveal trailer too. You can catch the 'Official Cinematic World Premiere Trailer' of Assassin's Creed Shadows at 9am PT / 12pm ET / 5pm GMT on Wednesday, May 15.
Yep, this is the one set in Japan - a setting that's been desired for ages within the Assassin's Creed community. Ahead of this week's grand reveal, the team has posted a very teaser-y teaser on social media:
Assassin's Creed Shadows has been described as "the next evolution of Assassin’s Creed’s open-world RPG design", allowing players to "live a very powerful Shinobi fantasy". This sounds like a big one, and we're intrigued to see how it's shaping up!
Ubisoft's major E3-style 'Forward' showcase airs just about a month after this on June 10, where we'd expect to see a proper gameplay demo for the newly-titled Assassin's Creed Shadows. For now, pen this cinematic trailer airing into your diaries for May 15th - and we'll see what next month brings.

About time they do Asian style hopefully they can do a future world too with high tech
just make an assassin's creed mmorpg already
Yeeeees. I'm so hyped, man. Gonna be hard not to jump day 1 on this one.
Here's hoping for a Sengokujidai setting.
I am playing them in release order. I'm surprised at how good they are. My favourite so far is Brotherhood. Now I'm halfway through III Remastered and for some reason I like Haytham more than Connor. Haytham is much more interesting as a character, in my opinion. Altaïr and Ezio are awesome, Altaïr so pure and Ezio so likeable.
This is my most anticipated game right now. I have played every AC game with the exception of the PSP ones and i look forward to every release. AC is my absolute favorite game series and i will Always be a fan no matter what. I love the huge open worlds, the large amounts of collectibles and side quests and the changing locations and battle systems. Ubisoft has done a great job making these games and I have no problem being in the minority on this on. I can't wait!
@rustyduck Absolutely not.
This is my last Assassin’s creed so I need it to not suck. Loathed Valhalla.
Edit: Sold! New trailer looks great! I haven’t been this excited in a while.
@NarutosBiggestFan What are your favourite AC titles and characters?
@NarutosBiggestFan
AC always gets hate, but they're amazing games. It also has become on of my favorite series. The worlds are fantastic, and I'm obssesed with thw lore.
@Banjo- I replayed all of the old AC games a couple years ago and it really stood out to me how different Ezio is compared to most of the other protagonists just because he is so much older in Brotherhood and Revelations. Connor starts as a teenager, and Edward (Black Flag), Arno (Unity), and Jacob/Evie (Syndicate) are all in their early 20s.
In terms of game quality, I think that the original is rough to play now, but most of the others hold up pretty well. Personal favorites are Black Flag and Brotherhood.
I'm not as much of a fan of the newer RPG-like versions they have put out the last couple years (still haven't played Valhalla or Mirage), but I'm still interested in the series
@InvaderFromSpace Thanks for the reply. I played ACI on Xbox One right after Breath of the Wild and I liked ACI much more than BotW. I liked ACII, but picking up all the collectibles bored me a bit, so I stopped doing that after this game. Brotherhood completely hooked me and Revelations is very interesting. I like that the stories of Ezio and Altair are completed and that the two shorts are included in The Ezio Collection. Altair is very old in the last gameplay section!
Haytham is intriguing. I'm liking III Remastered so far (sequence 6), with lots of improvements in controls and graphics compared to the older games and excellent writing, as usual. I have bought all the games up to Odyssey for Xbox, so a lot to come... All of them are 60fps on Xbox except Black Flag and Syndicate, I'm thankful for that.
YES!!!!! I loved the early games, but fell off the Assassins Crees train a while back. This definitely looks like a good time to get back on.
I can't wait. I still have to play Mirage but loved Valhalla.
like i said on pushsquare - bring the multiplayer back!!
@NarutosBiggestFan Same here. Just hope they stick with the stealth style now they've gone back to it. Clue is in the name..."Assassins" Creed...not Brawling Creed LOL
@Banjo- I personally like the later games. Origins, Odysee and Valhalla are my top 3 right now. Dont get me wrong, i love the older ones where you go in and out of the animus. But i really like the fully open world and just exploring. Also, i dont have a favorite character. They are all so good.
@Captain_Chao5 I personally am ok with the brawler style gameplay. I think the "Assassins" name is more of a brand now and not so much about being stealthy. I do love me some great stealthy/sneaky games, but i do also like getting right into the action.
can't really tell much from a cinematic trailer, but it looks very good!!
