Xbox has ported a small selection of its games to other platforms recently — as was much publicised last month — however, despite just four titles having been mentioned by Microsoft, fans are still wondering what might be next to move over. And, in a recent interview with Game Rant, Gears of War creator Cliff Bleszinski chimed in on what he'd think about the famous franchise appearing on PlayStation.
Cliff seems to think that it'd be a good thing in general for Gears to move over, allowing more players to play the series and potentially get "more Gears of War tattoos".
"People have been joking about Gears of War coming to PlayStation for well over like a decade and, you know, I think ‘the more, the merrier.’ If people own a PS5 and get to play and experience the next-gen Gears games, that means more Gears of War tattoos."
Of course, the famous developer is no longer involved with Gears in any fashion - despite saying on numerous occasions that he'd like to help Xbox out with the franchise in some capacity. Even though he's no longer involved, Cliff has "no problem encouraging Gears fandom" these days, he says.
Current Gears developer The Coalition is seemingly heads-down working on 'Gears 6' right now, after being pretty quiet since the launch of Gears 5's Hivebusters DLC in 2020. It'll be interesting to see how the Xbox landscape looks once the next Gears game is ready for prime time.
