'Retro Fighters' Releases Brand-New Wireless OG Xbox Controller For 2024

Fancy some wireless gaming on your original Xbox in 2024? Well, you might be in luck. Third-party manufacturer Retro Fighters has just released a brand-new OG Xbox controller this month - and it's a fully wireless effort for Microsoft's 2001 console!

Named the 'Hunter', this new pad certainly looks the part. Fusing elements of current Xbox controllers with the original design, this should provide a more 'modern' feeling solution to gaming on the OG Xbox in 2024.

Here are some of the pad's core features:

  • 2.4 GHz wireless technology, low latency
  • Compatible with original XBOX, Nintendo Switch and PC
  • Hall Effect analog sticks – no drift, ever
  • Precision Hall Effect analog triggers
  • Next-gen ergonomic shape and design
  • Wireless rumble capability
  • Added white and black shoulder buttons
  • Precise and accurate D-pad
  • Easy sync and setup
  • Premium textured grips
  • Pressure sensitive buttons
  • Wireless range of over 30 feet
  • Battery life of 10+ hours per charge
  • Includes both USB-A and XBOX receivers
  • USB-C charging port

As you'd probably expect, the Hunter uses a little dongle to connect to the console in a wireless fashion; via the OG Xbox's original controller ports. The pad will set you back roughly $45, and it's available to purchase right now.

"We don’t sacrifice when it comes to our games; and neither should you. Wireless technology, hall effect analog triggers and analog sticks, premium textured grips, pressure sensitive buttons. wireless rumble capability, white and black shoulder buttons, USB-C rechargeable battery…Yup, it’s all there!"

Pair this thing with a modern Xbox HDMI solution and you could be in for a real treat when revisiting the OG Xbox library. We took at look at the EON XBHD adapter recently and compared it to another option from Kaico - both of which you can read all about down below.
