Yesterday, you may have seen a game called Kingmakers absolutely blowing up on YouTube and social media, and the good news is that it'll be coming to Xbox in the future - at least according to one of the game's developers.
This was confirmed in a tweet which mentioned Kingmakers "definitely" coming to Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, although the developer later admitted they probably weren't meant to reveal that information so early! They also hinted that the game is already working well on the Xbox Series X and Series S development kits.
So, what is it? As you can see above, Kingmakers looks like a medieval battle simulator on the surface, but it also "brings guns to the sword fight" - and the trailer even shows someone driving a car through the middle of the battlefield!
We'll throw more details below so you can get an idea of what to expect. In terms of an Xbox release date, publisher tinyBuild says to expect the console launch after the PC version, the latter of which arrives at some point in 2024.
"Go back in time to a war-torn medieval era with a vast arsenal of modern weapons, change the course of history, and save the future in this epic action/strategy sandbox. Build your kingdom, grab a gun, and lead an army of thousands into massive, real-time simulated battles — solo or in co-op."
"Each battle you engage in runs as a fully real-time simulation with thousands of soldiers fighting at the same time. Every soldier on the battlefield is controlled by a next-gen multi-threaded AI which controls their decision-making, pathfinding, and loyalty. This, combined with a unique procedural animation system, allows Kingmakers to offer an unprecedented level of character and combat fidelity."
