We've been looking forward to the arrivals of Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth and Tekken 8 here at Pure Xbox for months now, and we're very pleased to report they're both excellent additions to their respective series' on Xbox!
It's not just us who think that either - the Metacritic scores for both games are extremely high! Tekken 8, which was the first game to receive reviews earlier today, currently has an average review score of 95 for PC, 90 for PS5 and 87 for Xbox, while Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is sitting at 93 for Xbox, 90 for PS5 and 89 for PC.
We've reviewed both games here at Pure Xbox today, where we fell slightly below the Metacritic average for Tekken 8 with a score of 8/10, and we came in above the average for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth with a score of 10/10.
We'll throw some excerpts of those reviews down below, along with the written and video versions.
Tekken 8 - Xbox Series X Review
"The good news, straight off the bat, is that Tekken 8 - mechanically - is very, very good indeed. This is a strong entry in the series that serves up fast and flashy fighting action. The bad? Well, let's just get that out of the way before we return to singing this one's praises..."
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth - Xbox Series X Review
"Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth manages to wrangle all of the franchise's excesses, its crazy side activities and epic storyline, into an experience that feels more fluid and refined than ever before...."
Will you be picking up either of these games on Xbox this week? Let us know down in the comments.

Two high scoring games…unfortunately neither interest me. Not into fighting games, and I’ve tried a few Yakuza games on GP but they didn’t really click with me. Happy for everyone else though 🙂
I'm going to try to hold firm and keep on my backlog, but reading the reviews of Infinite Wealth, I so want to grab it
Palworld, Tekken and IW have seriously dented my wallet this week 😁
@Kaloudz That's because like 95% of games are on a scale of 5-10
God no. I'm not buying Tekken 8 until it's umpteenth season pass is out and the deluxe pricing is no longer prematurely padded.
@Kaloudz and this is why review scores should be abolished. They give people an excuse to not actually read the review, cause arguments or, worse, lead to comments sections filled with people berating the reviewer for giving the game the "wrong" score. I've been on the receiving end of that in the past and it gets old very quickly.
