Third-party accessory maker PDP is teasing the return of physical instruments for music games - most likely because of the recent release of 'Fortnite Festival'. Fortnite Fest is a new music game baked into Epic's free-to-play titan, and it's been developed by the original creators of Rock Band, Harmonix. For now, we're forced to play the new Fortnite spin-off on standard controllers, but PDP seemingly has other ideas.
As you can see in the following tweet, the manufacturer is teasing the return of guitar controllers - and it looks like they're being unveiled (and possibly even launching?) in some fashion next month.
Now, the tweet is pretty vague and these could be built purely for the new Fortnite experience, but we really, really hope any sort of new guitar accessory would work with Rock Band 4 as well. Production on RB4 accessories ended ages ago - and they're incredibly expensive to get a hold of nowadays!
With that being the case, we're watching this one like a hawk to see what PDP does next. Confirmation of compatibility with existing music games like Rock Band 4 would be lovely, and while we're at it, how about new drum sets and microphones? If this all happens, we're definitely getting the old band back together.
