Microsoft Rewards 15-Minute Cooldown Is Extending To More Users

Last week, you may recall that we ran a story about Microsoft Rewards implementing a 15-minute cooldown for Xbox, PC and mobile users in certain countries. Well, that cooldown appears to now be extending quite rapidly!

If you head over to the Microsoft Rewards subreddit today, it's filled with disappointed users who have run into the new cooldown - a feature that restricts you to just three searches on Microsoft Bing every 15 minutes.

We haven't yet come across the cooldown ourselves here at Pure Xbox, but it's clear that plenty of people in the US, UK and many other countries are now starting to experience it. Whether it's a permanent feature or something that Microsoft is just testing remains to be seen - there's been no communication from the team about it yet. We're curious about why only certain users are getting it as well, as it feels pretty random at the moment.

In any case, it's definitely another barrier to earning Microsoft Rewards points on Xbox and beyond, but don't forget there are still plenty of great ways to rack them up, especially in the form of the "Play With Friends" quest on PC which can earn you multiple hundreds of points per-day. Let's hope that one doesn't get scrapped anytime soon!
