February 2022 brought the release of Elden Ring, February 2023 delivered the announcement of the game's Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, and now it's looking like that major expansion might finally arrive in February 2024! This game just seems to like Februarys, eh?
A new collaboration with accessory maker Thrustmaster appeared online earlier today — before quickly being scrubbed out of existence — that basically outed the release window for 'Shadow of the Erdtree'. The collab was seemingly supposed to highlight some new Elden Ring-themed controllers, but it also stated that the upcoming expansion will be "available February 2024" to coincide with the "Elden Ring anniversary".
Funnily enough, the promo also mentioned that another "major keybeat or new game expansion" was due sometime in 2025 - hinting that Shadow of the Erdtree might not be the last expansion for Elden Ring. FromSoftware hasn't officially announced anything beyond the game's first expansion for now.
At the time of writing this release window hasn't been confirmed, but it has a decent chance of being accurate considering it's an official collab that simply seems to have revealed a bit too much information a bit too early. We'll keep our eyes peeled in the coming days and weeks for official confirmation on when Shadow of the Erdtree is coming to Xbox.
