It feels like Microsoft Rewards is getting hit hard at the moment with various "nerfs" to the way you can earn points using the program, and we might have another nerf to add to the pile - the removal of Microsoft Edge exclusive points.
Basically, in the past, Microsoft Rewards users in certain regions could earn up to 150 points per-day for searching on Microsoft Bing across desktop and mobile devices, and then also get an extra 12 points for using the Microsoft Edge browser. Those 12 points now seem to have been removed, at least in the US and the UK.
We've tested this ourselves here at Pure Xbox, and can confirm we're not seeing the Microsoft Edge exclusive 12 points per-day anymore. Something else we've noticed is that you can't just complete all your searches in quick succession at the moment - it seems a countdown has been implemented that forces you to wait a few seconds per-search.
There's obviously a chance that some of this may be a glitch in the system, but it doesn't appear that way at first glance. It's definitely been a rough year for Microsoft Rewards in 2023, and hopefully things don't get any worse in 2024!
That said, it's still possible to earn many thousands of points per-month, as we've highlighted on Pure Xbox:
