We've seen some game store fumbles in our time but this is a good one! Dutch retailer MediaMarkt recently made a huge error when trying to promote the Xbox Series S - one of the company's stores actually bundled the all-digital console with a physical game.
Imagine it, you're a kid excited as all heck for your new gaming console and a copy of FIFA, only for you to have absolutely nowhere to play your disc-based game! We suppose it's an honest mistake to make if you're not clued up on Xbox Series S, but still, seeing this took us by surprise today.
As you can see there, the retailer has since rectified the mistake and apologised for any inconvenience caused - so it's now all cleared up at least! We just hope that none of these bundles are sat under Christmas trees at the moment, waiting to be opened up next month.
There could be one way to save such a situation if it did happen though, and that'd be for Microsoft to release some sort of disc drive add-on for Xbox Series S. We've not heard anything about that happening yet, but we did speculate on it recently after Sony's announcement of a detachable disc drive for PS5. It looks like such a device could be quite useful!
