We know that a lot of Xbox fans are anticipating some price drops for the Xbox Expansion Cards this Black Friday, and we've already begun to see a few deals cropping up. These aren't huge discounts, but they're discounts nonetheless!
Over in the US, we've noticed Amazon and Best Buy selling the 1TB model of the Western Digital Xbox Expansion Card for $124.99 rather than the standard $150, giving you an overall saving of around 17%.
Woot was also selling the Seagate version for just $89.99, but this sold out extremely quickly.

In the UK, you can get the same 1TB Western Digital model of the Xbox Expansion Card for as low as £129.99 at a few different retailers, while the 1TB Seagate model is down to £125.99 over at Amazon UK.
Better yet, the 512GB version of the Western Digital model is also down to as low as £84.99 on Amazon right now.
We're hoping we may find a few more Xbox Expansion Card discounts cropping up for Black Friday 2023 over the next week-or-so, and we'll circle back around with any particularly great offers that we discover.
In the meantime, if you come across any special offers on Expansion Cards that you want to share with us, let us know down in the comments below! And if you take advantage of any of these deals, we'd love to hear from you as well.
Will you be picking up an Xbox Expansion Card this Black Friday? Tell us down in the comments.

I hope Microsoft's next console allows for general market storage expansion rather than proprietary methods.
Glad the price has come down, though.
I want the 2TB Seagate at some point. I do have the 1TB version and got it for only $80 dollars from a friend that sold his Xbox and moved to PC only. I drove quickly to his house with cash in hand cause at the time it was the only card out there and i think it was around $200. It’s served me well and i do love the plug and play aspect to it. I will get the new Series X when it comes next year and that has 2TB and then add a 2 TB and just keep everything installed at all times. Happy to see the prices coming down tho.
Hmmm tempted but I have the feeling that there will be a better deal.
I need an expansion card bad glad to see the price drops
I ordered the seagate 1tb a couple of days ago (at this price) but is the WD better? Or same same?
A nice price on the 1TB Seagate card there.
Sigh, was hoping for a better deal, still too pricey imo. Hopefully the redesign allows non proprietary storage upgrades
I'm still amused they think these prices are reasonable.
Even at launch, you could buy a NVMes with the same capacity, and higher speeds, for less.
Had they allowed you to sue standard NVMes they could have saved production costs as they would not have needed the interface for a card.
The consumer would have had the benefit of not needing to have a memory card sticking out that back that had to be taken out everytime you moved the console lest you change damage to it where it sticks out.
@GamingFan4Lyf Like @HonestHick, I much prefer this method as long as the next console is compatible with it, which I assume. Can we say "proprietary", though? I'd say licenced memory cards because there are two manufacturers, perhaps more in the future. I like this proprietary plug-in solution, anyway. I don't have to worry about speeds, compatibility or opening the console case.
@Banjo- yeah i agree they need to use this storage going forward on all hardware. I believe if they get a few more companies on board with them the prices by the start of next gen should be more in line with what gamers will be willing to spend on them. I can’t say anything about the price cause i got one for $80 bucks that was used by a friend for less than 2-3 months tops. But i can say the ease of use and ability to take it to a friends house and plug it in ore swap from room to room for multiple console owners is really nice and can’t be overlooked, but i understand money is money and these are a touch high still for some gamers.
The 1TB cards are still too expensive for me, it has to be at least £100 before I even consider it. Also what is with Amazon saying we’d save £123 with 49% off the Seagate 1TB SSD card? It’s £150 at full price everywhere else. They just trying to pull wool over our eyes to make us think we’d be getting a great deal? Pull the other one Amazon 😒

@MrMagic let's not forget the Xbox expansion was available day one of console launch, PS5 owners were treated to NO option whatsoever for the best part of a year, and for about 3 months of that time Sony didnt even let PS5 users use USB to just store the games on.
Nobody knew at the time the price of NVMe would crash to such low prices.
Either way Sony pull the money back elsewhere, from their so called Premium subscription that offers just a bunch of old games and is now more expensive per month than Ultimate Gamepass which gives First and 3rd party games Day One as well as PC games, EA Play etc.
To Sony forcing you to buy Full Digital games and subscriptions from the Sony store whilst Microsoft allows you to use 3rd party keys not locking you to their store so much cheaper prices.
Sonys add on drive for the slim! Is proprietary and already costs more than a PC alternative which includes write capabilities.
@Sifi Nothing you just said justifies the price of those old and slower ssd's. 👍
@Sifi Well said. Solid reasoning and facts from start to finish unlike the two comments surrounding it.
@Banjo- I like the plug-in design as well; but, unfortunately, it's locked behind these two manufacturers and prices are ridiculous compared to a market that has more competition.
So, if it's something that can be either opened up to more companies for licensed products or able to be reproduced by non-licensed means for the sake of competitive pricing, then I'd be just fine with this plug-and-play method going forward.
@GamingFan4Lyf Microsoft would want to verify that each expansion card is perfectly fine and doesn't overheat, so I guess that inviting more manufacturers to produce reliable ones makes more sense than opening up the floodgates. Imagine the chaos and even consoles overheating if any compact SSD without a proper heatsink could be plugged in 😅.
The prices are still unjustifiable high for me and unfortunately, I don't see them dropping much further either 😕.
@Sifi it’s true Sony didn’t offer an option for 6 months but logically this was less of a big deal, only a small handful of people needed more storage in the first 6 months. Compared to the next 7+ years.
I disagree that nobody knew the price would drop so rapidly, it followed the same pattern of every previous generation from HDD to SATA to Gen 1/2/3 nvme and we knew gen 5 was on the way to push things down further. These prices were always expected.
Fact is you can buy 2TB on PS5 for significantly less than 1TB here. It was a massively short sighted decision.
End of the day Microsoft did a fantastic job with the series x, it’s a great console, but I don’t think there is anything wrong with pointing out and accepting the areas that are sub-par like this. That’s how you improve
Its quite clear that allowing 3rd party drives was a more consumer friendly choice, but as the recent banning of 3rd party controllers attest, that doesnt appear to be the direction of travel.
Given the platforms many strengths, thats not a monster issue, but its not ideal.
Regardless of such musings, it is good to see these prices reduce to a more manageable level as I plan on picking one up in the near future when I inevitably sub back to game pass. Never knock a saving!
I'm torn apart about something really stupid, and that's the design of this WD card, that I don't like. The Seagate just feels more natural for the console design, while this one really feels like something that should not be here.
But, hey, it's on the back on the console so... and there's a 50 bucks difference at the moment, in my usual shop, so... maybe the hell with it.
@Bobobiwan I think exactly the same. The Seagate design is perfect.
Been holding out for a while. Really need one of these.
I'll probably pull the trigger this week.
With tax, this is still around $200 in Canada for 1TB. That's ridiculous. 😫
