Popular Early Access survival game SCUM is nearing its 1.0 launch after years of updates from developer Gamepires, and we have an update on the console version ahead of the full launch. When a fan asked about an Xbox version on Twitter, the official dev team confirmed that is it "coming with the 1.0 release!"
SCUM has flown under the radar for us a little bit, but we're absolutely interested in an Xbox version here. This open world survival shooter has been a labour of love for the dev team since its Steam Early Access introduction in 2018, and we're intrigued by how it'll shape up on console.
We shouldn't have too long to wait for the Xbox release either! The game hit version 0.9 in August, so the release of version 1.0 should only be a matter of months away at this stage. We don't have a date yet, but we'll be keeping our eyes peeled for official confirmation of an Xbox launch date soon.
In the meantime, here's a bit more about what SCUM is bringing to its early access player base on PC:
"SCUM aims to evolve the multiplayer open world survival game with unprecedented levels of character customization, control and progression, where knowledge and skills are the ultimate weapons for long-term survival.
Combining the methodical planning and management of hardcore survival with optional PvP ‘network events’ available to everyone at anytime, SCUM strikes a unique balance between complex simulation and intense action in the next generation of survival game."

What's the gameplay like? Zombies? Bandits? Russians? What is the primary gameplay loop? More info in the articles please.
I can’t wait for this, I’ll be buying as soon as it hits the Xbox Store. Been wanting to try it on PC but then heard that it was coming to Xbox.
@JaffeGaffe You only have to watch some videos on YouTube to see what the game is about and if it’s for you or not, it’s been out on PC for over 5 years.
@MaccaMUFC just get it on PC then? It will run 100% better and way more options.
@JaffeGaffe YouTube would be a great place for you to start.
@JaffeGaffe It's a survival sort of game. The game is more leaning towards PvP but there are zombie like enemies around the map that are super dangerous if you don't pay attention. Another huge factor in the game is self preservation like, eating the right foods using the bathroom, staying dry, not eating a random mushroom on the ground and being high for the next 30 minutes. It's super in depth and cool.
@Crookz I game primarily on Series X, I only use my PC for games that are exclusives on that system and can’t play anywhere else. I haven’t got a powerful gaming PC, but can play games like Black Mesa on max settings at mostly 60fps.
@Crookz nah. They can do their job right and tell us about the game in the article....smart alec
