What's leaving Xbox Game Pass in December 2023? Well, Microsoft hasn't confirmed anything just yet, but based on some games that were added to the service this time last year, we can at least make a few predictions ahead of time.
We know that a lot of Xbox users want more advance notice of games leaving Xbox Game Pass, but Microsoft understandably gives us around two weeks right now - and don't forget, publishers sometimes secure late deals with Microsoft to keep their games on Game Pass, even after they've been announced to be leaving!
So, before we take a look at the following list of potential games leaving Xbox Game Pass in December 2023, we want to stress that nothing has been confirmed yet, and this will not be a 100% accurate list by any means. Some of these games might leave, some of these games might stay, and many others might be added to the list.
The most common (but definitely not the only) trend with Xbox Game Pass seems to be that games stick around for one year, so we've gone back to December 2022 to look at the games that were added to Game Pass at the time. That said, we've also added a few games from the December 2021 list as well. Based on those original announcements, here's what we think could potentially leave Xbox Game Pass in December 2023:
Date It Joined Xbox Game Pass | Game | Platform |
December 2, 2021 | Console, PC
December 2, 2021 | Console, PC, Cloud
December 2, 2021 | Stardew Valley | Console, PC, Cloud |
December 16, 2021 | The Gunk | Console, PC, Cloud |
December 1, 2022 | Console, PC, Cloud
December 1, 2022 | The Walking Dead: The Final Season (Seems unlikely?) | Console, PC, Cloud |
December 6, 2022 | Hello Neighbor 2 | Console, PC, Cloud |
December 6, 2022 | LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga | Console, PC, Cloud |
December 8, 2022 | Console, PC, Cloud
December 13, 2022 | High On Life | Console, PC, Cloud |
December 13, 2022 | Console, PC, Cloud
December 15, 2022 | Rainbow Billy: The Curse Of The Leviathan | Console, PC, Cloud |
As mentioned previously, there could be plenty of additions to this list, and many of these games might stick around on Xbox Game Pass for even longer, but it seems likely that we'll lose at least some of these in December 2023. Our predictions usually turn out to be anywhere from 30%-80% correct.
Obviously we've still got November to come, so there's a lot more happening with Game Pass this month as well. Plenty of great games are on the way to the service including Like a Dragon Gaiden and Persona 5 Tactica!
Which of these games do you think will leave Xbox Game Pass in December 2023? Tell us down below.

Can't say enough good things about high on life and chained echoes. Please play before it's too late....too late....too late....
I need to finish The Gunk. I might be about halfway through. Hope I can pick up the controls after giving it a couple hours back when it released.
That is a nasty list of great games… the gunk was great as well
Is there a big chance High on Life will be removed? Might have to pause my Starfield run for it, which I’d rather not.
In the middle of playing Chained Echoes and finding it excellent, gotta focus on it. Wanted to try eastward, but I think it's just gonna go into the wishlist. Oh well...to little time for all the games I'd like to play.
I didn't even know Lego Star wars was on there lol
Honestly not a huge fan of these prediction articles on what's leaving Game Pass. Kinda feels like fear-mongering to me as none of this is confirmed.
I would rather not worry that Paw Patrol will leave the platform one day, thank you very much.
It's been a year already since Chained Echoes? Holy cr#p.
@HotGoomba It gives you time to still play them though. Once you get the official notification it’s too late.
I actually like these prediction posts. With limited time to play and so many games that catch my attention, it helps me direct my focus on the roughly dozen games that leave every month.
@HotGoomba I can understand that view but these prediction posts have given me the kick I needed to finally play 3 or 4 games I might have missed otherwise. Microsoft just doesn’t give us long enough warning for some of these games.
That said I hope your list is more wrong than usual @FraserG there’s a lot of good games there.
@Darude84 It's pretty short so shouldn't impact your gaming time too much.
@HotGoomba Don't you put that negative energy out there, we need Paw Patrol!
@FraserG Just wanted to come back and thank you for the warning on Chained Echoes. It a 50+ hour RPG unless you skip all the side content, and thanks to your post I got to play it before the deadline on Friday and have loved it all so far... still a few hours to go but would haven't had time otherwise. Much appreciated dude!
@themightyant Ah, no problem! That's why we do it
We can never be 100% accurate, but there are always at least a few that end up leaving.
