Is it us or does it feel like we're getting so many Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles games these days?
The latest announcement is for the video game adaptation of TMNT: Mutant Mayhem, which as you probably know is also the name of the animated film that was recently released in cinemas. The game takes place "months after the events of the movie" in a campaign that combines "energetic ninja teamwork gameplay with a humorous narrative".
Here's a bit more about what to expect:
"Taking place months after the events of the movie, the game will feature unique visuals inspired by the film’s bold, painterly art style. Combining energetic ninja teamwork gameplay with a humorous narrative, players will take control of the Turtles as they interact with a host of memorable characters from the franchise and fight to save this stylized take on New York City from a new mutant threat."
There's no trailer for TMNT: Mutant Mayhem (the game) yet, but we do have the new "original artwork asset" up above, along with the confirmation that it's coming to consoles and PC at some point in 2024.
Here's what publisher Outright Games had to say about today's announcement:
“Nickelodeon is one of our longest standing licensing collaborators and we’re overjoyed to have the opportunity to bring the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to life in a brand new and original video game. This is one of the most enduring and beloved franchises in the world and we’re beyond excited to use our expertise to expand the Turtles’ global reach even further through the world of video games.”
