Next week marks the return of the ID@Xbox Demo Fest for summer 2023, and that means we'll have over 40 demos of new and upcoming Xbox games to enjoy for the period between July 11th and July 17th.
As usual with these events, the ID@Xbox team wants everyone to be aware that the demos aren't necessarily "indicative of the final product", as some of them will potentially still be in a very early stage of development.
We only know of five of the 40+ games so far (more will be revealed next week), and one of them is actually Lies of P, which is already available to play via a free demo on the Xbox Store. It remains to be seen whether it'll be getting a different demo next week, but at first glance it appears to just be the same one.
Here are the games that have been confirmed for next week's ID@Xbox Demo Fest so far:
Demonschool
"An RPG with tactical elements and a spooky horror vibe, Demonschool has you try to survive university life as Faye, the last living demon hunter. Experience unique tactical battles, build relationships with friends, complete goofy sidequests, and fight gigantic bosses, all while unraveling the demonic mystery of the island."
Lies of P (Coming To Game Pass)
"Inspired by the familiar story of Pinocchio, Lies of P is an action souls-like game set in a cruel, dark, Belle Époque world. All of humanity is lost in a once-beautiful city that has now become a living hell filled with unspeakable horrors. Lies of P offers an elegant world filled with tension, a deep combat system and a gripping story."
Sea of Stars (Coming To Game Pass)
"Promising the Sabotage touch in every system, Sea of Stars aims to modernize the classic RPG in terms of turn-based combat, storytelling, exploration and interactions with the environment, while still offering a hearty slice of nostalgia and good old, simple fun."
The Wandering Village (Coming To Game Pass)
"A city-building simulation game on the back of a giant, wandering creature! Build your settlement and form a symbiotic relationship with the colossus. Will you survive together in this hostile, yet beautiful post-apocalyptic world, contaminated by poisonous plants?"
Wordless
"Worldless is a stylised 2D adventure platformer with innovative combat and a mind-bending, interpretive narrative. Players will walk the line between physical and astral planes within a shapeless world, embarking on a journey of self-growth and understanding.
Featuring a great variety of enemies, bosses and skills to unlock, and several abstract yet beautiful areas to explore, together with curated sound effects and a magnificent OST composed by Berlinist (Gris), Worldless will make players feel immersed and challenged while they walk their path to a new beginning."
In addition to the ID@Xbox Demo Fest event, don't forget that ID@Xbox is also hosting a special Digital Showcase in partnership with IGN next week on July 11th, with the event set to begin at 10am PST / 1pm ET / 6pm BST.

Wordless looks like it could be cool and unique for its take on its genre.
Definitely excited for Sea of Stars, probably don’t need another demo to get me more interested though. Given that it’s on Gamepass, it pretty much secured being my August game that I’ll be playing unless I have difficulty sinking into a JRPG style game after completing FF16 and Pikmin 4 (could happen, as I’m starting to get a little burnt out of playing longer games and I don’t want to mess with my Starfield playthrough). Crazy that the game is due out next month though. The demo on Switch was honestly exceptional.
I know Lies of P is the “big title,” but the last demo did not impress me. It sort of put me off of it. If it reviews well, I may take another look, but my initial thoughts are that it was sort of boring, but, hey, that’s just me!
Some awesome games here. I initially didn't love the Lies of P demo, the dodge felt off, and a few other little niggles. But once I went back to it more with an aim to parrying it opened up.
Really looking forward to Sea of Stars, though I thought the demo wasn't great. Others looking good too.
I am stoked that they are bringing a good couple of games that are actually coming to Game Pass. That final game, Wordless, actually looks pretty damn fun for a side scroller... And I kinda wish it was going into Game Pass now haha.
Wow I didnt realize the wondering village is actually coming on the 20th of this month.... Kinda surprised, that since it was announced for game pass at their game showcase... That they do not have it on the list of games coming soon to game pass. When they have added a bunch of other games that are coming out way later.
@Stoned_Patrol There are loads of games that Microsoft doesn't add to the "Coming Soon to Game Pass" list. Compare their list with this one, for example:

I like this time and this program.
