All games should have cross play. Happy to see this one included. I use cross play on Street fighter 6 and Diablo 4. Works great and both players get to play how and where they prefer. Sony really tried and did successfully block a lot of cross play in the beginning. I always disliked that they were able to do that. Happy to see more and more games in 2023 having it. 😊
@x3King84 unfortunately most games in the industry are the same games over and over with new skins and thats with story driven games. Basketball is basketball, it can’t change much or it’s no longer basketball. The create a player mode gives the games some flexibility. I view it to watching sports on TV. It’s the same game, same stadiums and uniforms, with slightly different players.
NBA 2k23 was on PS Plus, i don't much point of paying
$149.99 for 2K24 "25th Anniversary Edition" unless you've got cash to burn
@HonestHick I remember back in the PS3 gen, it was Sony that tried to do crossplay, but xbox did not. Or so I believe that's how it went. That's why I think ff14 didn't make it to xbox. PS3 and PC supported crossplatform play. And I think a few other games did it too, but can't remember. But now, I don't know why, sony have gone against it.
@x3King84 i agree the problem with that is it wouldn’t be enough money. Cause they have to play the NBA, the players, and all other league marketing they have. So the updates wouldn’t be enough money to make it worth it. But i do agree and wish the players didn’t get such a cut from using their names.
@CutchuSlow there was a few MMO and other games that used cross play in the PS3 era. But it was always including just PC that i remember and not both consoles. I could be wrong but i think those are the ones i remember. PS4 and Xbox one era was the one Sony wasn’t as friendly to the idea of players being on both consoles and playing together.
@HonestHick yeah it was just PS3 and PC. And yeah I noticed after the PS4 was out, they weren't into crossplay anymore. If they were, maybe every game would have supported cross play by now.
@CutchuSlow yeah they tried to stop that feature dead in its tracks unfortunately. Glad to see lot’s of games supporting it now and it should be the future. I play Diablo 4 on Series X and my good friend plays on PS5 and we play just fine together, it’s really nice and feels like all games should be like that.
