Yesterday brought us the grand reveal of EA Sports FC 24; the company's first football game since its high-profile breakup with industry powerhouse FIFA. While the game itself looks pretty similar to last year's FIFA 23 on a first look, there are lots of notable Xbox Game Pass bonuses this year, including a free month of membership for Xbox pre-orders.
Yep, anyone who pre-orders EA Sports FC 24 on the Xbox Store before the Standard Edition launch day of September 29th gets one free month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate - but it only works for new members. That's a value of $16.99 / €14.99 / £12.99, which seems a pretty good deal if you aren't subscribed to Game Pass already, although keep in mind that Microsoft is already offering a month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for just £1 / $1 on the Xbox website.
"Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Codes will be delivered via Xbox system message after full payment is received. Redeem at microsoft.com/redeem by January 1st, 2024. Valid for new Xbox Game Pass members only."
Outside of this pre-order bonus, your usual array of EA Play / Xbox Game Pass Ultimate benefits apply. There'll be a free 10-hour trial of EA Sports FC 24 for members of either sub starting September 22nd, and Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can also get 10% off pre-orders, bringing the Standard Edition price down to £62.99 / $62.99.
If you're now tempted to pick the game up at launch, here are EA's in-game pre-order bonuses that'll sit alongside these Xbox Game Pass benefits as part of the Standard Edition (there are many more for the Ultimate Edition!):
- Cover Star Loan Player Item (10 matches)
- 2 Ambassador Loan Player Pick Items (pick 1 male & 1 female for 5 matches)
- Unlocked PlayStyles Slot in Clubs
- Additional Player Personality Points in Player Career
- 5-Star Coach available for hire in Manager Career
- 1 Month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate (new members only)✝︎
Do these pre-order incentives seem worth it to you? Let us know your plans for this year's release!

It's hardly a benefit if it's not for existing customers.
Can't imagine there will be all that many people who will be buying this game for launch who haven't previously been on Xbox for a while and had gamepass at some point in that time. Especially ones who have been playing Fifa. So for those two people who are buying an Xbox just before the game releases just for that game then pre-ordering it in time it's a great deal for them. Otherwise it's not really something most will benefit from.
