We've only got just over a month to wait until the popular Xbox Game Pass title Atomic Heart receives its first DLC! The expansion is called Atomic Heart: Annihilation Instinct, and it launches on August 2nd, 2023.
In this DLC, you'll be able to continue where you left off in a story that explores "what happened to this dystopian world after the climax of Atomic Heart". Here's what the official description says about it:
"Prepare to embark on a journey through the new mind-bending Mendeleev Complex and its surrounding swamps and discover the truth about NORA as Major P-3 is pulled back into Facility 3826. Survive vicious, shape-shifting new enemies and take them down using two cunning new weapons - ranged one the Secateur and melee one the Klusha - as well as your glove’s new Techno-Stasis ability, allowing you to manipulate time itself.

Meet a new enigmatic character, as well as returning ones in surprising circumstances and dive deep into the AI’s insanity to curb its Annihilation Instinct."
In addition to the DLC, there's also now a free New Game+ mode in Atomic Heart featuring the "strongest enemies Atomic Heart has ever unleashed", complete with new "specific resistances and attack effects".
The pricing for the Atomic Heart: Annihilation Instinct DLC has yet to be revealed, but if you already own the Gold or Premium Editions of the game, you'll get it included at no extra charge.

Nice trailer, might get it at some point in future... But not in August - would be too busy with Baldur's Gate 3.
Did they ever fix the base game?
No thank you. Did not like the base game. Clunky controls, terrible dialog and combat. Shame though, really liked the world they made.
There was so much potential in the main game, great world building and immersion. But it was tied together with tedious combat, a terribly delivered story, some of the worst writing i've seen in a AAA game and whoever thought up that enemy revive mechanic should be fired. (the last is a joke, but it was AWFUL)
Hopefully the already announced sequel fixes some glaring flaws, i'll wait and see on that.
sorry I liked the game and at some point will play this dlc
This game was a solid 7 for me. It wasn’t great, but I enjoyed it well enough. Writing was weak, but the world itself was really well done. Shooting mechanics could have definitely been better, but again I found it enjoyable enough. I don’t regret my time spent with it and if the DLC is ever on sale for a really good deal, I’ll jump back in.
I will say it’s a shame they didn’t give this game another 6-9 months in development. With a bit more polish on the combat, it could have been a lot better. Not sure anything could have saved the story tho.
