In recent weeks, we've seen lots of rumblings about some Starfield-themed Xbox hardware - namely a controller and a headset rumoured to be dropping alongside the Xbox Games Showcase this month. Well, an image of the actual retail box for the controller has appeared on ImgBB via Reddit, and we must admit it looks pretty legit to us.
Here's the picture in question, showing the same controller design that seemingly leaked in early April:
We can't confirm the validity of the box ourselves, but it looks to be UK/Europe-based given the 'PEGI 18' rating slapped on the bottom left corner of the case. We'd hazard a guess that this has been spotted on a shop floor or in a warehouse somewhere ahead of its imminent retail release, but that's speculation on our part based on the image.
Of course, if this box is legit then it adds fuel to last week's report, where well-known leaker billbil-kun claimed that a €74.99 / $79.99 Starfield controller and a €124.99 / $124.99 Starfield headset were set to be revealed and released on the day of the Xbox Games Showcase.
Let's wait and see what happens next, eh? We have less than two weeks to wait for the big show, along with its accompanying Starfield Direct livestream - both going ahead on June 11th.

That’s one fine looking controller… but I don’t really need more controllers…. But damn I want it….
@Kaloudz It's probably something that's required because of the Starfield 'advertising'.
That looks like an Argos catalogue number on the box.
@Kaloudz I'm not sure tbh, maybe they would still be age-gated?! You never know, there might be some DLC bundled in that could count at in-game 18+ content.

It really is beautiful. But I REALLY don't need another controller.
If you so happened to work at certain UK retailers you could say it's coming Juner rather than later.
Also all licenced products must dispaly the age rating. Cyberpunk 2077 controller did the same thing.
This controller looks soooo good. Now I only need a Series X to match it and I'm set.

Love it but not worth the price IMO
@Fishticon So you can hear the game audio and not everyone else has to in your vicinity. It also works with multiplayer games.
I want this so bad, and I only have one Xbox controller. I think it's time.
It is most certainly fake, PEGI-rating is not on controller boxes. Have the Gears 5 themed controller box and there is no PEGI rating on it (and yes it incl. a code for a skin in the game). And the big retailers would never get a controller so far ahead.
Another giveaway is the text that tells what it will do besides the button son the controller. It is a no go for a general xbox controller themed or not.
@Sveakungen it's real - the cyberpunk 2077 Xbox controller also had the pegi 18 rating as all pegi licenced gaming products require ratings on the packing. Argos just received thier stock allocation so it's likely this get launched in June or soon after. No release date on the back end yet but June is a safe bet.
Looking at the design, this must be part of their Pride Month initiative. Pretty clever!
