Ubisoft hasn't exactly been prolific over the last few years. Lots of its upcoming lineup seems to continue to see delays — both public and internal — but a new report from outlet Kotaku at least gives us a little bit of hope for the team's upcoming Star Wars game.

According to the report, Ubisoft has this open world Star Wars project aiming for a current fiscal year release. Basically, they're expecting 'Project Helix' to come out between now and April 2024 as things stand.

However, even this release window target doesn't seem very assured. The outlet is also reporting that internally, some employees working on the project feel this release window is "probably too ambitious", and that a delay to the following fiscal year seems likely.

Ubisoft has issued a response to Kotaku's reporting, granting the typically vague answer of "we don’t comment on rumors or speculation". The company does have an upcoming 'Ubisoft Forward' event planned for June 12th, so we'll have to wait and see if the project shows up there.

Outside of Assassin's Creed Mirage, we really don't know much else about Ubisoft's upcoming lineup of titles, especially when it comes to release dates and windows. Remember Skull & Bones? Yeah... that one still hasn't launched nearly a decade after development first began. Here's hoping Star Wars is in for a smoother ride!
