Wow! Rarely are we this taken aback by video game graphics these days but if 'Chrono Odyssey' looks like this when it launches we could be in for a proper visual treat on Xbox. The upcoming fantasy MMORPG has just delivered its first proper gameplay reveal, posted up above, and it looks very next-gen-shiny to us!
In fact, the dev team behind this title is bigging up the graphics already. Korean studio NPIXEL says Chrono Odyssey brings "unparalleled graphics" to Xbox, featuring "a vast and seamless open world" to boot. Here's the team's premise for the game, as posted by Xbox Wire:
"Chrono Odyssey is an open-world game that immerses you in a vast, seamless world that is full of points of interest. The structures scattered throughout the world are designed to fuel your sense of adventure, and the game’s realistic graphics, dynamic time of day, and weather all contribute to an authentic experience. You will encounter a variety of NPCs each with their own stories, which will allow you to gain a better understanding of the world."
That very same blog post goes into even more detail on what to expect from Chrono Odyssey, including a batch of short trailers showcasing different elements of gameplay. It all looks very impressive and we can't wait to learn more about this one after seeing some footage!
As you'd probably expect, we don't have any sort of release date just yet for Chrono Odyssey, and this looks like it'd be a mammoth undertaking for any developer. Let's see if this fantasy RPG sticks its landing when it comes to Xbox Series X and S sometime... soon?
What do you make of this first gameplay trailer? Impressed by Chrono Odyssey so far? Leave your thoughts down below.

Really looks good, my heart sank when I read MMORPG though.
Hopefully can be enjoyed solo if it's as good as it looks!
Ok it started of a bit generic but quickly ramped up. Do we have any approximation of a release window?
Very pretty. Lost me at MMORPG, though.
@AtlanteanMan Man, my thoughts exactly: I was watching the trailer in awe, during lunchtime today...until the "MMORPG" stuff. Then, I just finished eating quietly.
Dunno about it being an mmo, but I’d like to see more about this title.
I was a little interested until I read "MMORPG".
@grumpypotato Ah balls lol. Guess Avowed and the new Dragon Age will be my best bet for medieval style RPGs for now then
If this game plays and looks like this Xbox should buy this company asap
Not an MMO guy but I'd give it a shot. I'm willing to venture out of my comfort zone if the game is worth trying. I'll wait & see how it turns out
My thoughts are, incredibly ambitious looking game and sadly they rarely ever pan out, also souls style game which really turns me off from playing.
But who knows could be great game I'd love playing.
Mmorpg has me very likely to skip this one.
The term rpg is used so loosely nowadays.
Oh man it’s that ‘time traveling seal team six’.game that was leaked
@fizban3332 I was thinking that at first but then saw that it's an MMO, so it very likely is a true MMORPG. I'm betting the flashy moves are all on cooldowns as is typical mmo combat, though the souls like dodge, dodge, dodge, dodge makes me wonder. Still, if MMO is almost certainly really an RPG.
@grumpypotato yeah seemed viable until I saw npixel.. I'm guessing it's a casino. Maybe you buy your dodge rolls in packs of 20.
Series S looks on in fear.
Damn I might have to keep an eye on this one.
really, another hack n slash?
Good to know what Suaron and the Balrog did next 😂
Looks lovely, but hard no for as an MMO, just doesn’t respect my time
OH no, I hope its not another Souls game
A korean MMORPG ? U like mindless mob bashing for grinding and leveling ?
My heart is warmed by the number of people who are scared off or otherwise made disinterested by the MMORPG tag.
For me it is synonymous with "we didn't bother with AI or NPCs or much of a story" and as a Dad it heralds the unplayable association of "You can't just pause it when your kids are about to maime themselves doing a double backflip off the couch"
Trying to trick us by not including the MMO part in the articles headline...
I’m intrigued by this.
Personally, I enjoy games with online elements.
Even if I don’t interact with other players just seeing them in a hub or whatever between levels or fighting some mobs in the same area as me actually adds a strong element of not feeling alone in a game world.
