Original story: The new Xbox "Stellar Shift" controller was announced earlier today, launching in select markets worldwide, and you might be interested to know that it comes with a unique feature - a special dynamic background for Xbox Series X|S.
By plugging the controller into your Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S console, Microsoft says you'll be able to "bask in the deep purple and blue swirling design as you venture off to wherever your Xbox takes you".
Here's a look at the dynamic background in action:
This is the first time that we can recall where a dynamic background for Xbox Series X|S has actually been integrated with a new controller, and it'll be interesting to see if it proves a popular and recurring decision in the long run (update: it's actually not the first time - thanks to Pure Xbox user TownYsend for reminding us!).
The controller itself definitely looks like a worthy addition to the Xbox lineup, and you can get your hands on it right now for Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, retailing at $69.99 USD.

Just a heads up. The 20th Anniversary controller had a dynamic background linked with it. 😊
@TownYsend Of course! Totally slipped my mind.

Shame I actually like that Dynamic background more than most, which just look a mess once overlayed. Not going to get another controller for it though.
too bad this would be the best background imo, really tired of the basic ones
I don’t think I like this practice, personally. I don’t like that background enough to make a fuss about it (not sure if anything will replace my Xbox 360 dynamic background) but it feels… wrong.
You know what I miss being able to get with controllers or just in general? Swappable faceplate a la 360.
Man I miss the days of having a literal library of them to put on at any given whim.
Prettier than the Metroid Prime 4 reveal. 💜
Hmm could be nice but I’ll never know unless I happen across one of those controllers with a pricing error lol. Ugh crap move MS!
