As followers of anything Xbox Game Pass, we hear plenty of stories regarding indie developers successfully launching their games on the service. However, naturally, some titles don't quite make the cut, with recently released strategy RPG We are the Caretakers one of those unfortunate misses.
On a recent episode of the Xbox Expansion Pass podcast, one of the game's developers talked about how the team pushed to be included in Xbox Game Pass, but missed the boat at launch. Here's what the dev said when asked about being included in Microsoft's subscription service:
"We tried! It's not going to be on Game Pass. It is on pre-order right now for a 10% discount, so you can go to our Xbox store page and grab the game now,
Who knows, maybe in the future, if we have a great launch that could be there, but for right now we are not going to be on Game Pass."
Of course, not everything can make it onto Xbox Game Pass, and Microsoft likely has to be pretty selective when picking indies for its Game Pass library. In We are the Caretakers' case, it would have probably done wonders for the game's visibility on Xbox.
