Xbox has delivered its first Game Pass addition of the year in the form of open world survival game Stranded Deep. The title has been added to the Xbox Game Pass library prior to any official January roundup, which we'll of course bring to you once we hear about the rest of the month's Game Pass additions!
For now, here's a little more info on Stranded Deep - now live on Xbox Game Pass:
Stranded Deep (Console, PC)
Take the role of a plane crash survivor stranded somewhere in the Pacific Ocean. Come face to face with some of the most life threatening scenarios that will result in a different experience each time you play. Scavenge. Discover. Survive.

The Diofield Chronicle and Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Edition are also supposed to be dropping later today.
With this being added today, their Twitter accounts / website have to do an official announcement but they're hours late on the usual release...
It seems they're all over the place since mid-December - wish they'd hurry up and get their act together as this lack of communication isn't exactly a great omen given how amazing 2023 is meant to be for first party games...
@UnusedBabyWipes Hopefully confirmed soon via an official roundup from Xbox! For now, it's just Stranded Deep
Can't wait to play this master piece
Great... another online co-op survival game... Like Xbox doesn't already have enough of those.
I enjoy myself some craft/survive games, but right now sticking exclusively to Valheim (that I am looking forward for it to launch on XBox so I can more comfortably play from the couch.
I gave Arc a try but it has obvious patch-creep, with years of obsolete systems added on top of each other, making it very confusing to get started. It did seem interesting enough to increase my interest on Arc 2.
As for this game, looks interesting but again, got my hands full with Valheim on PC, for my survival/crafting needs.
So... Subnautica on Earth?
@UnusedBabyWipes seriously? The most recent game I bought was Diofield. This keeps happening! Try and support Square Enix on Xbox as well and get shafted. Standard.
@UnusedBabyWipes I hope you're right about Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Edition
Love Street Fighter 30th over on my Switch. Fantastic collection that hits all the notes of my youthful obsession with Street Fighter. Street Fighter II: The World Warrior is the first arcade game I ever played, down at Lamppost Pizza.
@Kaloudz I think he’s being sarcastic 🤣 it’s not meant to be very good. Subnautica much better.
@K1LLEGAL @hypnotoad Hey if I'm wrong, blame Game Infinitus: https://gameinfinitus.com/news/the-diofield-chronicle-stranded-deep-and-more-games-surprise-dropped-on-xbox-game-pass-today/
Though now it seems that they'll be up tomorrow given how Microsoft's taking their sweet time for the newest GP batch.
Diofield chronicle and Street fighter 30th have been available for a couple hours via the xbox phone app
@UnusedBabyWipes ah well good for everyone else. Its an alright game and at least I bought it with reward points on sale. But seriously my luck with every game I buy going to gamepass continues. I guess it will be The Quarry next.
Its a good game especially if you like the sea and underwater, bit rough though but still worth checking out.
I played this for dozens of hours on my Xbox then for dozens more when I found out the pc version had extra wildlife and features.
Unplayable. Low resolution, less than 30 fps.
Hey, we are in 2023, games like this should be erased
The game is way to janky. It is a good time waster, but thats about it.

Mortal Shell was added along with this in my Gamepass app but no Street Fighter or Diofield.
