We can't quite believe our eyes either, but yes, CD Projekt Red's sci-fi RPG Cyberpunk 2077 was first teased 10 years ago today! The full game may have only launched at the tail end of 2020, but the teasers began much, much earlier than that. Blimey!
We've been reminded of this frankly absurd fact by the studio's global community director, who took to Twitter earlier today to surprise us all with this little tidbit:
What's maybe even more incredible about this whole situation is that Cyberpunk 2077 was actually announced more than two years before the team's prior game, The Witcher 3, launched on Xbox One.
Anyway, not long before the teaser's 10-year anniversary came Cyberpunk 2077 next-gen, a release that got a little bit closer to the team's original vision after a rough Xbox One launch back in 2020. How time flies, eh?

Do you remember this first CP77 teaser? Are you as shocked as us that it's been 10 years since it dropped? Let us know!

Wow that's insane. It was launched 7 years after its first tease and it was a terrible launch
It's a brilliant game after they fixed the bugs. Looking forward to Phantom Liberty hoping it's as good as the Witcher DLC.
In future they should only show stuff that's actually been finished so they don't put so much pressure on themselves. This avoids releasing a rushed and broken game.
@Chaudy More hilariously the trailer ends by saying
"Coming when it's ready"
My favorite part, at the end of the trailer is says “coming…when it’s ready” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That trailer was breathtaking.
So was the launch.
For different reasons.
i will give them credit on one thing, unlike EA with Anthem, they did go and fix most of the issues i mean i still once in a while hit a invisible wall in the middle of the desert, or sometimes sit on the hood of my car while i drive but i mean thats minor compared to how this game launched, and they are far and few between now.
and it's still not finished
"Coming when it's ready" That was a lie.
My most hyped game for a long time. Tons of promises that slowly were just cut away or taken out due to issues.
There should have targeted next gen and PC only from the beginning as it was probably a huge reason for all the compromises and in turn just an alright game. Not terrible but just alright, nothing revolutionary for gameplay or game systems.
Biggest disappointment of the century. Easy.
