Portkey Games has revealed quite a bit of new info on Hogwarts Legacy recently, via a couple of new video clips and an updated FAQ page. The clips showcase the common room areas for each of Hogwarts' Houses, while the FAQs provide some fresh info on some of Hogwarts Legacy's biggest features.
Sadly, tucked into that FAQ update is the bombshell that, yep, Quidditch is not playable in Hogwarts Legacy as things stand. The team has emphasised that broom flight is available as a more exploratory feature, but the actual sport of Quidditch doesn't feature in the game right now.
"Quidditch is not playable in Hogwarts Legacy. However, broom flight for traversal and broom race challenges are part of the game. Players can also fly brooms to explore new and familiar locations surrounding Hogwarts Castle."
This is a bit of a bummer; Quidditch is simply iconic in the Harry Potter universe! There's a chance such a mode could be added at a later date, but as things stand, no dice.
Looking at the new common room tours — one of which we'll drop down below — we do hope that a decent amount of mini games and side activities do make it into Hogwarts Legacy outside of Quidditch. The school looks a blast to explore, we just want there to be plenty to see and do within!
What do you make of this news? Sad that Quidditch isn't involved? Let us know down below.

Hogwarts Legacy does not exist in a vacuum. There are important discussions being had about the views and opinions held by the creator of the Harry Potter universe – views and opinions which we do not agree with.
Our goal is to create and foster a positive environment for people – all people – to discuss and celebrate video games, not to amplify ignorance or provide a forum for unconstructive arguments. As per our community rules, we do not accept any form of hate speech on our platform.
Possible a future DLC
Usually these kinds of things are half-baked or shallow at best anyway. I'm glad they made the decision to just not **** with it. It was my least favorite part of past HP games anyway.
@Shramm More than likely
That's probably for the best. I would rather have them spend the time and energy on the rpg and combat elements.
Missed opportunity for a mini-game that could be a spinoff
I very rarely buy games day one but I’ve got reward points to spend. The thing is I don’t know whether to spend it all on this or Dead Island 2. I may wait for reviews for both games and miss out on the pre-order packs. I’ll rent either one which I don’t buy but I want to spend my reward points on the game I want to own most.
My youngest would want me to buy Dead Island 2 as he loved the first game but I do think Hogwarts Legacy will be the more quality and polished game but will it be more fun to play than Dead Island 2? More reason to wait till both have released and see how they review.
Quidditch World Cup wasn’t fun.
