After a long time of waiting, we've finally been treated to the news that we wanted to hear - Deathloop's PlayStation 5 exclusivity has expired, and that means it'll be heading to Xbox Game Pass on Tuesday, September 20th!
When it arrives, the game will also include a free Goldenloop update that will add some new content in the form of cross-platform PvP matchmaking, a new "Fugue" ability, a new "HALPS Prototype" weapon, a new "Paint-Bomber" enemy, four new ability upgrades for Julianna's Masquerade ability, new 2-in-1 trinkets, and even an extended ending!
Also, it sounds like Xbox Play Anywhere is supported as well!
"Xbox console and PC versions will also feature cross-purchase and cross-save, so if you purchase DEATHLOOP through the Microsoft Store on either Xbox or PC, you’ll be able to play it on your other Microsoft platforms and pick up right where you left off."
Better yet, Deathloop is now officially available to pre-install on Xbox Game Pass, so you can get the full thing downloaded onto your console ahead of its launch next Tuesday. Just a few days to go until you can start playing!
Looking forward to Deathloop on Xbox Game Pass? Let us know down in the comments below.

MS brings free updates to playstation and sony pays for exclusive quests etc.
Something is wrong in MS land, they are too nice^^
@Murray They've got to play nice until the Activision deal goes through. That's when the gloves will come off.
I don't actually think they will put PS dollars at risk with those sort of tactics in the short term though but who knows long term.
@Murray MS continues to support all their games they now own on Playstation hardware. That includes ensuring all versions are updated and the 'same'.
Sony, whilst I totally disagree with paying to keep certain content off of other platforms, also only have their Console to draw people into their ecosystem. MS has Consoles, PC and of course their Cloud platform on many devices. Sony 'need' to get you to buy a PS5 so you'll spend money and make them profitable. If MS don't sell consoles, they are still selling Subscriptions and content through their own store/apps. If you opt to buy DLC, MS gets 30% if bought through their store/app - like Sony does too of course on PS, but Sony doesn't have a store on PC yet so doesn't get 'retailer' profits on their PC games.
Point is, MS has more avenues for driving their gaming revenue. If Sony sell 20m PS5's, then that's the 'size' of their ecosystem and the people they rely on to buy games, services etc to be profitable. If MS sells 20m Series Consoles, they can still reach all the Gamers in the world as they all likely have some device that can access Game Pass Cloud - meaning that they can sell a Subscription to get them into Xbox ecosystem.
As I said, I don't agree with Sony's approach and think that they should be investing that money into their own studio's, their own first party content etc. Instead of crying about potentially losing 'CoD' at some point in the future, they should of been building their own CoD - they have Destiny, Killzone, Resistance, SOCOM, MAG, Haze etc IPs and talented studios - some may say the best in the business...
It makes sense that MS supports their games, regardless of what platforms they are on and treats the fans of their games the same too. If a game is released on PS5, why punish the gamers who have bought your game? Why should they miss out just because of Sony's bad practices? They have contributed to the games commercial success and deserve the same respect as other gamers...
Its a shame that Sony doesn't have the same approach - but that's just the way it is right now and things 'change'. Annoying gamers and not being seen as 'pro-consumer', being 'greedy' and underhanded - not just with their competitors, but also with their fanbase, who knows if that is 'sustainable' for Sony - time will tell!
Not available on the Game Pass app for pre-install...
@BAMozzy
The sad part is, that the nice guy only wins in movies.
Since we had to wait 1 year, I expected at least some goodie like a special outfit.
Phil should work on his promise 'best played on xbox'.
Despite being an Arcane title, this game didn't catch me at launch. I don't know if it was Sony's terrible campaign at pushing it (since they had absolutely nothing else to push post launch) but it just didnt click. I'm still not sold, but I get to give it a shot risk free via Game Pass, so will do just that when I get some time (Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is eating my life.)
@Murray "Phil should work on his promise 'best played on xbox'."
Might still be "best played on Xbox", Ditial foundry will surely jump on the case and let us know about raw performance.
@Tharsman
it will not be easy to top adaptiv triggers in deathloop with 'raw performance'
@Murray And how do you know that Deathloop won't be 'best' on Xbox? For a start, I can access it via Game Pass and on the day it releases to that platform - not a year+ after. If you buy it from Xbox, you get the PC version too and keep your progression across both.
Some 'cosmetic' extra outfit certainly doesn't make a version 'play' better or be the 'better' version and more likely to get any sequel than Playstation and on top of that, you get all these 'new' items from Launch - not having to wait a year...
As for adaptive triggers, they can be 'cool' for short periods of time but over a long session, they get annoying and I end up turning them off in most games. Certainly doesn't make that version 'superior' and I would rather have better image quality and/or more consistent, higher frame rates over Adaptive triggers EVERY time as that really makes more of a difference to my enjoyment than having different feeling, sometimes tiring 'triggers' that get in the way, distract and/or annoy over time...
@BAMozzy apologies, I mis-read your post and responded to it in my haze of idiocy/stupidity. Deleted that post now but you probably received it by email. 😬
@Enigk depending who MS decides to acquire next after Activision Blizzard, they might have to play nice a little longer.
CANDY! Candy! Candy! Candy! Drugs! Candy! That's the fa'n recipe. Put it in a bowl.
