Team Xbox has revealed that it'll return, at least digitally, to the Tokyo Game Show this year, which takes place mid-September. Xbox will host a livestream focused mainly on Japanese and Asian titles from "developer partners" around the world.
The team has tempered expectations slightly by saying that, when it comes to its own first-party games, the show will focus on "existing titles" from Xbox Game Studios, rather than upcoming releases.
"We invite fans to tune in to the Tokyo Game Show 2022 Xbox Stream where you can expect to see updates on existing titles from Xbox Game Studios and titles launching from developer partners that we hope will delight players here in Japan, across Asia and around the world."
We should get a good look at some upcoming third-party games though, especially for the Japanese market, which is nice to see! The show goes ahead September 15th, 2022, at 2am PT / 5am ET / 10am BST.
Will you be tuning in to Xbox's TGS 2022 livestream? Let us know in the comments!

Yay! I’m glad they are catering to the Asian market more.
PlayStation and Nintendo have the monopoly when it comes to Japanese games (obviously) but I would love to see more third party JRPGs and the like coming to Xbox.
It saddens my soul every time I see sales charts for Xbox that are just filled FPS shooters all the time and even Pure Xbox rarely covers the non-mainstream Xbox games.
The Xbox library has a lot of diverse titles already but it also needs a good injection of Asian flavour into it. I hope this helps to cater to that.
It's good to see they make such a big effort to get more popular in the Asian market. We already see some fruits of it with Soul Hackers 2 and the Persona games coming to Xbox and i hope this will only get them more ground in those market so we will get mor JRPG and other Asian games over here.
I would love to see them working together with Japanese studios for Xbox exclusive JRPG or get a 2nd Japanese studio, besides Tango Gameworks, to make more Japanese type of games.
Surely they won't focus too much attention on persona 5 as that ship has already sailed in Japan and those who haven't got it yet will get the switch version.
Hopefully for you xbox only players they get the atelier series as the latest ones are something special and deserve more attention.
@SplooshDmg I'd definitely reccomend the atelier Sophie games, more so atkwir Sophie 2 but you would need to play the first one to better understand the story and characters, and blue reflection second light is much much better that the first in my opinion, has a cool crafting mechanic and social events.
For other games, there's atelier firis which was the first open world atelier game, then there's the fairy tail game which I really enjoyed especially the guild ranking system, but then again maybe it's only for those who have watched the anime.
The nights of azure games are a hit or miss, good combat but story felt flat, and heavily focussed on its yuri and ecchi aspect, but still I'd rate them a 7/10.
Then theres the ciel nosurge games (ps3) which may be on the PlayStation plus premium tier, they were pretty good and battles are kinda rhythm based instead of traditional turn based, definitely worth a play, also on the ps vita.
Good except Xbox has no Japanese games.
Recommended game styles.
3d wargame game similar to Advance Wars.
A fantasy golf game.
A collectathon Battle style title.
A much needed decent rythym game ( Project Diva)
An idolstar type title.
Cute platfomers Super Luckys Tale.
These I've mentioned plus other family playing styles may appeal more to the Asian markets. I think that these genres are lacking on Xbox in general and would appeal to more gamers worldwide.
I love Xbox but there are a lot of games that are similar in style eg. FPS.
We just need variety and more choice and Xbox could do better in the east.
Especially from Xbox game studios in general.
Hope people won't get mad when a gaming show for JP fans is mostly not in English haha
Living in Japan, the Xbox is mostly considered a joke here still even though I do my best to sway all the people I come to contact with to check it out.
I was just standing in front of Surugaya's Xbox shelf the other day (used geek goods' chain here) and some young whippersnappers walked past me laughing, "who the hell has an Xbox, hahaha".
Most stores have a miniscule collection of Xbox stuff, physical releases are almost non-existent here (Japan got Scarlet Nexus and the next one was Saints Row - I really don't know why that one in particular - that's it).
In any case I'll probably be attending TGS to check it out.
I really have doubts about the whole Game Pass thing being attractive to Japanese gamers and that's where MS is putting its eggs into everywhere it seems.
The Japan Xbox team has a lot of work cut out for them for sure.
