The Game Awards host Geoff Keighley has revealed that he'll be hosting a live showcase at Gamescom 2022, set to take place later this month. During the 'Opening Night Live' show, expect to see new game trailers, extended demos, and of course, plenty of 'world premieres' (admit it, you read that in the voice).
The showcase kicks off ahead of the main Gamescom event, which returns to a proper in-person show for the first time since the pandemic. Opening Night Live streams August 23rd at 11am PT / 2pm ET / 7pm BST, and then the main show goes on from August 24th through August 28th.
Xbox has already confirmed its attendance at the event, although we're not quite sure what shape that'll take. The team hasn't announced its own showcase just yet, but we'll of course update you all if we hear any news on an Xbox-specific livestream!

And don't you forget the laughable *first on Xbox or Xbox launch exclusive * 🙄.
I don't know about anyone else, but I wish Microsoft would stop doing this crap.
Releases matter, announcements don't. Xbox is really good at one of these things.
Not going to lie, thought this meant Xbox's showcases' not the general one, my bad.
@abe_hikura Not a problem! We haven't heard anything on an Xbox show yet, but there's a good chance they'll show up during the Keighley stream if not. They have said they'll be attending!
@Sol4ris It would be nice if -everyone- stopped this.
Hopefully FF7 Remake on Xbox.
@Kezelpaso I'm not expecting much, they seem to be really focusing on the next 12 months atm but it'd be nice to get something, maybe that Goldeneye remaster that clearly exists.
Introducing the my name is mayo trilogy launching on Xbox for only £69.99
@Sol4ris yeah especially when they sell those rights down the line. Tunic is now multiplatform and so is Artful Escape. Genesis Noir is making the jump too. What next the Gunk? I'm a multi platform gamer(currently rushing the trophies for killzone sf) but if they are announced as exclusives they should at least stay that way.
@Benjamin omg they are SO GOOD at announcing games lol....but then it's like, "now what do we do?"
@Snake_V5 I just don't think it's coming at this point. I would LOVE to be wrong, but I think Sony locked that and probably any new FFs up for the foreseeable future.
