Halo Infinite Forge leaks have been plastered all over the web in recent weeks, ahead of the mode's proper launch later this year. These have covered a wide range of player creations, from Silent Hill-esque horror modes to maps with alternate weather effects, and more. And it seems some of the folks over at 343 are still amazed that all of this is possible.
Halo Infinite engineer Chris Howard, who worked on the game's upcoming Forge mode, has responded to some of the Forge leaks that are out there in the wild. Here's what he had to say:
Howard seems proud of the sheer number of objects the team managed to make usable at any given time in Forge, likely leading to some of the crazy creations we've seen so far. It's not even out officially yet either! We can't wait to see what the community comes up with once the mode is available for all.

At this point you’d have to think 343 are ‘amazed’ they’ve finished anything. Only took them 9 months and counting after the release of the game?…you can literally make a human being in that extra time - amazing.
@Bleachedsmiles that's the worst comparison/analogy I've ever heard for anything ever. 🤣
The forge could be the best creative mode of any game, but nearly all of the 20 million people that gave the game a chance at launch will never see it now.
Especially for a game where the most repeated comment is "the gameplay is great but it has very little content to keep me playing", I can only wonder what kind of difference having this feature at launch may have made.
@Richnj Yup, if only they'd delayed it until it was a actually ready. Everything about Halo Infinite so far has screamed: this game should have not come out yet. Yeah, there was the initial buzz when the game first came out, but imagine how much it could have blown up with a decent selection of maps, a fully thought-out live service model, local and online co-op campaign and Forge... all at launch. This game should have come out late 2023 at the earliest.
@Bleachedsmiles
Took the words out of my mouth.
343 "Are you sure we're ready to release this? Why dont we wait another 6 months and be sure?"
Public "Halo who now?"
Shame it wasn't there a long time back...
Really happy I didn't buy this game but was able to play it via Gamepass. May jump back in again later
I'm impressed the game has been out 9 months and the basic net code still is garbage.
Amazed that after a huge budget , 6 years of development & a year delay they've managed to develop a staple feature that's been in the games since halo 3 but 9 months after release still isn't in the game lol
Super excited for this. I'm super lucky in that I didn't blow my load on this game in the first few weeks like many people did. I have MANY other games that I also spend time with, as do my friends. We play multiplayer for an hour or so on the weekend, among a large list of other games we also cycle through. We aren't even very far through rankings in MP yet and have a blast every time we play. On top of that, all three of us have yet to play the campaign. That's right, we are all waiting until the co op update comes, so even the campaign is completely new and fresh to us still. Now we get to look forward to Forge in a few months. For the patient ones, it's a damn good time to be a Halo fan.
