Well, we weren't expecting to see this in 2022! Last night at Gamescom's Opening Night Live show, WB Games revealed that it's brought the release date for Gotham Knights forward a little bit, from its previous October launch date.
The upcoming DC title now launches October 21st, instead of the previously announced date of the 25th. Yeah, it's not a huge move, but still! An earlier release date is always welcome, especially when a game is already locked and loaded for a late October launch.
The trailer showcased during the event was mostly cinematic in nature; there wasn't a whole load of new gameplay in there. Still, exploring Gotham City looks pretty fun here, and dropping the last-gen versions seems to have enabled a smoother development period for WB Games.
Will you be cruising around Gotham City on day one? Let us know down below!

I'm not really convinced on the game yet. I'll wait until the reviews until decide if i am going to get it close to release or later on in a sale
I will be getting this at some point but not at launch. I've got too many games already queued.
I was really excited about this game when it announced, but I'm not as excited about the co-op focus. I'll have to wait for reviews on the single-player experience.
@Lavalera Leave it to us die hard bat fans to beta test for you first. 😉
This is my most anticipated game of 2022. I will be pre-ordering this one and playing as much as humanly possible!!!
Happy birthday to me!! So excited!
@Lavalera Honestly there's really no reason to not wait until after launch to buy any game. How many times have games needed sizable patches in the first week to play correctly, or have just been overhyped junk?
@PhileasFragg That's always such a non sensical argument. I've also bought a lot of games when on sale which got rave reviews which I didn't like like red dead 2x gta v and sekiro to name a few. Besides not every game is like cyberpunk when it releases. With the latest 5 games I pre ordered I had no problem whatsoever. It's a matter of picking the studios you feel confident pre ordering with and know can deliver good quality and being absolutely sure the game is for you. And with pre-orders I didn't have a game yet that I didn't like
@Lavalera I don't see how it's nonsense to not want to buy something that nobody has even played or isn't even finished yet.
Back in the day before digital downloads I'd pre order popular games as my local store would only have a couple extra copies, and if you didn't order them you'd be waiting a couple weeks maybe for them to get more.
In the day of digital downloads if there's a game you want you can buy it whenever you want, and play it within a couple hours at most. That combined with ubiquitous post-release patches and the lack of demos means I've not pre-ordered a game in over a decade.
@PhileasFragg i didnt say that was nonsense, i said the reasons you brought up in your first reply "games may contain bugs or may be bad" are nonsensical reasons to not pre order. The same thing can happen when you buy a game after release.
I pre order only games i am absolutely sure i am going to enjoy and from studios i know i can trust with a good day 1 release. I can't name a single game i pre ordered which was broken at launch or i didn't like.
pre orders usually give you a certain in game bonus, sometimes early acces sometimes bonus skins or whatever, so yeah there still are incentives to pre ordering even when done digitally
