Volition's Saints Row Reboot, which launches next month on Xbox, has officially gone gold! In this case, core development has wrapped up, and the team has its 1.0 version locked and loaded ready for launch.
Of course, in this day and age, that doesn't mean the game is fully finished, as day one patches are pretty much a guarantee at this point. Still, it means the game shouldn't be delayed any further, and you can count down the days until its August 23rd release!
For those who aren't up to speed on this one, Saints Row's reboot is looking like it'll move away from the sheer wackiness of Saints Row IV; back towards the earlier games in the series. In truth, it looks like a mashup of the two styles, and we're curious to see if the team can pull the new look off.

This one snuck up on me, I felt like it was going to come out next year for some reason.
Well good for them, because I'm sure not buying it.

Thank heavens for that! I really liked SR1 and then all the subsequent games just went south for me, hopefully this will be more like first game rather than its sequels.
@Sol4ris it won't be anything like the original or 2 this one is about a bunch of college kids wanting to build a criminal empire to pay back their student loans lol
Good luck on going gold. Because we still don't know who this is made for. Not old fans from all the changes. And the game looks too meh to attract a new audience.
