E3 2023 is officially taking place! It's been announced today that ReedPop will be producing the 2023 version of the event, which will be returning to the Los Angeles Convention Center in the second week of June next year.
ReedPop is the veteran event production company behind PAX, New York Comic Con, Star Wars Celebration and more, and is partnering with the Entertainment Software Association to deliver "a week of titanic AAA reveals, earth-shaking world premieres, and exclusive access to the future of video games".
Hookshot Media, which publishes Nintendo Life, Push Square and Pure Xbox, is also a partner of ReedPop.
Here's what Kyle Marsden-Kish, ReedPop Global VP of Gaming had to say about the announcement:
“For years, we’ve listened, heard, and studied the global gaming community’s feedback. E3 2023 will be recognizably epic—a return to form that honors what’s always worked—while reshaping what didn’t and setting a new benchmark for video game expos in 2023 and beyond.”
The press release says that E3 2023 will "welcome back publishers, developers, journalists, content creators, manufacturers, buyers, and licensors", and will "highlight digital showcases and feature in-person
consumer components".
More information will be revealed about E3 2023 in the months to come, and ReedPop has advised media, creators, industry professionals and fans to visit the official E3 2023 website to stay up to date ahead of the event.

Can't be worse than Geoff Keighley's spotlight on himself.
I thought that this event was dead it will however be interesting to see what actual content it has.
Many publishers preference is now on doing their own online events. Why would they waste loads of money when they can do it themselves.
It's a shadow of what it used to be and think this will be the last chance before finally being put out of it's misery.
I hope it’s stacked. I really miss the days of the big three competing for our attention during 3 consecutive days. There was so much more excitement around our (the gamers) three day weekend.
Financially I’m sure it makes far more sense of Nintendo to do their own thing, and Sony to keep doing their own thing. But it’s so much less rewarding for gamers. Id much rather have an event to get hyped for…have those weeks of build up. Have the conversations that fill up the spaces in between the conferences. Have the awkwardness, the cringe, the epic fails…alongside the big reveals, and one up manship….than the scattering of little directs and state of plays throughout a year in its place.
Im sure Bleached will be pumped! Weve been here before
For those that still think there's merit in such things im sure this is good news and its nice to see the emphasis is on it being for the trade, as this is when it made sense. Its also a nice jolly for devs who get sent and I dont begrudge them that.
But its quite clear that Sony and Nintendo do just fine with more direct shows, and without them, its just not as relevant as it once was.
MS will be there of course, cost is never an issue for them, and id hope some of the bigger publishers will have a presence. But with two of the major format holders missing, alternative shows (kinsley not gonna bow out), and a proven direct show alternative, E3 will never represent the entire industry again, only ever a sub set of it.
I'll still look for coverage though!
Such awesome news!
I always regretted not being able to go to an E3 when it was a huge event. If it somehow becomes even a fraction of its former self, I plan on attending in 2023.
@Titntin It's more fun to have an amusement park than a ferris wheel in a Walmart parking lot, and a carousel in a Target parking lot for a weekend at opposite ends of the calendar year...... The latter may be cheaper for the amusement company, and it may be profitable, but it loses a lot of its lustre.
Seriously though, I do expect Nintendo to be there. Notice that the two times E3 was missing, Nintendo did not do a full June Direct. And every year, including the one awkward one last year, there is E3, they do. And they continuously had the largest floor space second to Activision ( and third when Sony was there), through the last physical event. Sony does what Sony does for whatever penny pinching reasons Jim does anything he does, but Nintendo has consistently demonstrated a major interest in committing big to E3, so far, without fail. I think Microsoft and Nintendo can easily be counted on participating. Neither has given any indication to doubt that from their past activities. Sony...probably not.
Of course by then MS will have Activision and an entire floor will be just companies owned by Microsoft..... so even if nobody else participates it'll be a big show of a bustling Microsoft consortium and Geoff Keighley hitting the sauce from a paper bag in the corner mumbling about his show being huge, and Jim Ryan sharing the bottle heckling the event that Zelda's not that big, anyway, before they both go off and try to find a PS5 from a parking lot scalper.
I'm just joking. Jim wouldn't want a PS5.
@NEStalgia Lol! 😂 Methinks your crystal ball is pretty accurate, thats exactly how it will play out...
